Am I charged when the instance is stopped or paused?
The hourly software charge meters running time only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the per-hour software fee. Underlying AWS charges, such as storage for the attached volume, may still apply while the instance is stopped. Restarting the instance resumes the hourly software charge.
How is my bill affected if I switch to a larger instance size?
