Each hourly unit covers the hardened Ubuntu 26.04 LTS software running on one EC2 instance. You pick an instance type, and that type sets the software rate. The clock counts wall-time hours the instance runs. Each running instance is metered separately, so ten instances accrue ten hourly charges.
The software rate meters running hours only. A stopped or terminated instance stops accruing software charges. You may still pay AWS for attached storage while an instance is stopped, but the hardened Ubuntu software charge applies only while the instance is running.
Your bill has two parts. The hardened Ubuntu 26.04 LTS software rate is charged per running instance hour by the seller. AWS separately charges for the underlying instance, storage, and data transfer. The software rate is added on top of those AWS infrastructure fees.

What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu 14 is a Debian-based Linux distro. It can be used for learning Linux and Bash scripting. And Ubuntu 14 is present on the cloud marketplace, making it the best software OS for quickly creating server instances.
What do you dislike about the product?
My dislike about the Ubuntu 14.04 LTS is that it has many vulnerabilities as of today. And most of the vulnerability exploits are publicly available to everyone. That's the only thing lacking in Ubuntu 14.04, those vulnerabilities are fixed in the latest versions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One business problem that Ubuntu 14.04 LTS solved is that it lets us customize our environment. My favorite part in customizing is the terminal, that's my favorite part as a cybersecurity researcher. It's easy to use only if you know the Linux environment and CLI.

What do you like best about the product?
If you want a solution for your legacy applications this is your best choice. It's a very stable LTS for old version or appliances. You can deploy with security and safety and direct and forums support your solutions
What do you dislike about the product?
This distribution doesn't have recent features, doesn't run recent technologies and so on. Must have a good hardening and auditing for stability and security but you can trust in the performance

Using Ubuntu 14.04 machines to host our custom solutions that would ingest data to Postgres DB in AWS. Since this is quite a mature OS, it was very easy to migrate from legacy OS to Ubuntu 14 OS that supported compatibility with other software as well.
