What does the hourly charge cover, and what am I actually paying for?
You pay for a preconfigured CentOS 10 Arm image running on the EC2 instance type you launch. The charge is a software and support fee billed per running hour, added on top of your standard AWS compute cost. Vendor support is included for the image.
Am I charged when my instance is stopped or powered off?
The hourly software fee meters running time only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the per-hour charge. You may still pay underlying AWS storage costs for the attached volume, but that is separate from this listing's hourly rate.
How does my bill change if I move to a larger instance size?
Each dimension maps to one instance type and size. When you switch to a larger size, the new hourly rate applies from that point forward. You are not billed for both sizes at once. Only running hours on the currently active instance count.
