Offers no-code possibilities but requires better security features
What is our primary use case?
I have built more than 14 projects for my clients using WordPress , which include various websites.
I also have two personal websites that I am trying to build up but haven't found time to complete.
I have built WooCommerce projects, restaurant websites, dental websites, hospital websites, staff project websites, personal portfolios, and tour company websites.
I have built quite a few websites.
What is most valuable?
The best feature of WordPress is that it provides no-code solutions, enabling us to make anything when we use Elementor.
You can build anything, and the features are all updated without needing any code.
This is the major and key feature of WordPress.
The benefits of using WordPress are extensive. Some websites I have seen have full features similar to Fiber websites and service-based websites.
You can build a school management system or learning management system in WordPress with the help of plugins, and it is very user-friendly and open-source.
WordPress scales up effectively, allowing you to expand your website.
As mentioned earlier, you can build a learning management system.
The most popular websites respected for SEO are hundreds out of 90 from the WordPress platform, demonstrating its scalability.
What needs improvement?
The area that could be improved in WordPress is the security feature.
The security features need to ensure they don't rely too much on external plugins for security.
WordPress needs to have its own built-in security similar to Webflow or Shopify .
For how long have I used the solution?
I have experience with WordPress for 3 years, and for GoHighLevel, I have experience of 6 to 7 months.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I experience issues with stability, but it depends upon the hosting providers.
How are customer service and support?
I haven't contacted the WordPress customer support team personally, but I have been connected with the hosting providers' support team, and they have really helped.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Neutral
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have used Wix , Webflow , and Shopify , and I have worked on Squarespace as well.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup depends upon hosting.
Some hosting providers offer a very simple and easy process where you just click through, but some hosting providers such as ServerStream make it complicated since you have to upload WordPress files to your server.
It's a very complicated process.
What other advice do I have?
Nowadays you can use WordPress with just basic knowledge and build a complete website.
They can fix issues really fast.
For beginners who are learning web development, they should definitely look for WordPress.
On a scale of 1-10, I rate WordPress a 7.

An easy-to-use and adaptable tool that needs to be simplified a bit
What is our primary use case?
I use WordPress to write content in Spanish and English for a magazine and some B2B websites.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable feature of the solution stems from the fact that it is quite easy to use. The tool can also be personalized and tweaked, making it an easily adaptable tool for what I need. Considering how it works, the developers in my company can create it in a way that makes it a very simple tool that is easy and intuitive to use. You can save text and add images while remaining easy for a non-expert user.
What needs improvement?
Considering the fact that I have used a lot of tools, WordPress is a good product. Right now, I can't think of any area in WordPress where improvements are required.
In the future, WordPress can consider making a simple website that is easy for its users to use. If you want more advanced things or a more complex website, it requires more work, for which WordPress should help users simplify the process of making a more complex website that is not only text and images.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using WordPress for six months.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
In my experience, there haven't been any stability issues in WordPress.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
In my company, between 20 to 50 people use WordPress.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have experience with other website builders, like Squarespace.
How was the initial setup?
I wasn't involved in the setup phase of WordPress since I had just received an explanation on how to use it from someone in the technical team of my company. Based on my first experience with WordPress, it was a bit intimidating the first time I saw it, as it does seem like a lot. It became easy to use once I was onboarded and everything was explained to me by my company's technical team. A user may feel intimidated the first time he or she sees it.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
As per my understanding, WordPress is an open-source product, owing to which there are no requirements to make any payments towards its licensing costs.
What other advice do I have?
My company has an IT team to take care of the maintenance part of WordPress.
I think the main advantages of WordPress can be brought out if you have a team of developers since it can be made really flexible to fit your needs. You can change a lot in WordPress, especially its UI and certain functionalities. WordPress is quite an adaptable tool that you can personalize enough to fit your needs. WordPress has an advantage over other tools since it is a very well-known product that a lot of IT teams would know how to work on. Once you are onboarded, WordPress is quite easy to use.
I would tell those planning to use the solution to have a clear image in their heads of what they want from the tool to make it easier to develop that vision. I would suggest those planning to use WordPress do not get intimidated when using it initially. If you don't work with too many complex technologies, you may feel a bit intimidated by certain software products. A person might see WordPress and feel overwhelmed, but it's easy and user-friendly.
My experience with the tool may be different since my company has an IT team to look after the product. If just one user decides to make their own website using WordPress, then the experience of such a user might be better or worse than my experience with the product.
I rate the overall product a seven out of ten.
Versatile and can be employed to create websites for a wide range of purposes
What is our primary use case?
I use WordPress for various purposes, depending on my clients' needs. Some clients request hospital websites, while others opt for e-commerce shops using Shopify or WordPress. Additionally, clients approach me for school or office websites. In essence, WordPress is versatile and can be employed to create websites for a wide range of purposes, making it suitable for almost any project my clients bring to me.
What is most valuable?
The best feature of WordPress is its flexibility. I can utilize free plugins and builders, easily access my website's backend with admin access, and work with SQL databases as a base. While Shopify may have similar features, my experience with WordPress makes it easier for me to have complete control over everything in the website-building process.
What needs improvement?
WordPress could use improvement in terms of optimization, especially for large websites with extensive databases and many images. When clients want to build projects like Amazon on WordPress, it tends to slow down and becomes challenging to manage when they have thousands of products. WordPress needs to become more flexible and efficient to better handle such significant projects and provide a smoother experience for users.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using WordPress for seven years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The stability of WordPress can vary depending on the hosting provider used. For instance, with Bluehost, it often experiences frequent breakdowns and scheduled maintenance, leading to interruptions. On the other hand, hosting services like Cloudways and Namecheap offer better stability and are preferred options. GoDaddy is good as well but not my first choice.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
In my company, the majority of our clients use WordPress, which accounts for more than 80% of the projects. This translates to over 100 people, as I have built around 50 websites on WordPress so far, with only about 10% opting for Shopify.
How are customer service and support?
I haven't contacted the WordPress support team directly. Instead, I usually interact with the customer service of my server host when I need assistance, as WordPress is a program that can be set up without requiring direct support. For certain issues, I might also reach out to domain support for help when necessary.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is very simple.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The cost of a project using WordPress varies widely and depends on the specific requirements. It can range from as low as $500 to as high as $3,000 or more, depending on the complexity and scope of the project.
What other advice do I have?
My advice for new users is to first define their project requirements. Understand the type of website you need, whether it is e-commerce or informational. Consider factors like the number of products you plan to feature and any specific design or functionality preferences. Be prepared to answer questions from professionals to help them recommend the most suitable platform, whether it is WordPress or something else, for your specific project needs. Overall, I would rate WordPress as a nine out of ten.
