Instead, each rate maps to a specific EC2 instance type you choose to run. The many options span small burstable instances up to large memory-, compute-, storage-, and GPU-focused instance families. Your hourly software cost changes based on which instance size you select, so larger instances carry higher rates. You add EC2 infrastructure charges separately. Support from the vendor comes with the image, and you stop paying when you stop the instance.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each rate covers the software license for one running EC2 instance of the type you pick. One unit equals one active instance-hour. Larger instance families carry higher hourly software rates. You pay the EC2 compute charge separately, so your total is the software rate plus AWS infrastructure cost.
Software charges apply only while the instance runs. When you stop the instance, the hourly software charge stops too. A stopped instance may still incur AWS storage fees for its attached volumes, but the vendor's software license meters running time only.
Support comes with the image. To open a ticket, you submit a form with your AWS subscription ID and the product name, describing the problem in detail. A representative then contacts you. Support is included at no separate line item in the pricing table.

Once the instance is running, connect to it using a Secure Shell (SSH) client with the configured SSH key. The default username is 'ubuntu'.
OS commands via SSH: SSH as user 'ubuntu' to the running instance and use sudo to run commands requiring root access.
