You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance type you run this software on. There is no separate license fee or tier structure — the software itself is the same across every option. Pricing scales with the compute power you choose. Smaller instances like t2.nano or t3.micro cost less per hour, while larger memory, compute, storage, or accelerated instances such as x1e.32xlarge, u-24tb1.112xlarge, or p4d.24xlarge cost more. You select an instance that fits your workload size and run it as long as needed, paying only for the hours used.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What software is included when I run one of these hourly instances?
Each instance runs a preconfigured image with OpenLiteSpeed, Drupal, and the LiteSpeed Cache module on Ubuntu. It also sets up phpMyAdmin, a database user, PHP tuning, and a firewall allowing SSH, HTTP, and HTTPS. The hourly rate covers this bundled software, no matter which instance size you pick.
Am I charged the software fee when my instance is stopped?
The software fee meters running instance-hours only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software charge. You may still pay separate AWS charges for attached storage or other resources while the instance is stopped, but those are billed by AWS, not by this software.
Does the hourly price change if I need more processing power later?
The software price is tied to the instance type you run. If you move to a larger memory, compute, storage, or accelerated instance, the hourly rate rises to match that type. Moving to a smaller instance lowers it. You control cost by choosing the instance that fits your workload.
