You pay by the hour for a preconfigured image that runs Joomla on the OpenLiteSpeed web server. Pricing is not tiered by features. Instead, you pick one Amazon EC2 instance type, and your hourly rate follows the size and family you choose. Smaller instances like t3.nano or t2.micro cost less per hour, while larger compute, memory, storage, and GPU families like c6i, r6i, x2iedn, and g5 cost more. All instances deliver the same software. You choose based on the CPU, memory, and workload capacity your Joomla site needs, and billing scales with running time.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does the hourly rate cover, and what will I get for one instance-hour?
The rate covers a preconfigured image running Joomla on the OpenLiteSpeed web server, billed per hour on one Amazon EC2 instance. One instance-hour is one hour of a single running instance of the type you pick. The instance size sets the CPU, memory, and storage you receive.
Am I charged when my instance is stopped or paused?
Software charges meter running time only. A stopped instance stops accruing the hourly software rate. Underlying AWS resources, such as attached storage, may still incur their own fees while the instance is stopped. To stop all software charges, terminate the instance.
Do I pay extra to use the LiteSpeed cache with my Joomla site on this image?
The cache extension for Joomla is free and open source, and it works with the OpenLiteSpeed server included in this image. Your only cost here is the hourly instance rate. Note that some cache features may not be supported on OpenLiteSpeed.
