What counts as one unit for the Windows Server edition license?
One unit is one computer where you install the software. Licensing is per computer, not per user or per cloud account. Each Windows Server machine running the mapped-drive software needs its own license. You count units by the number of server machines, not by connected network users.
Does licensing one server cover the multiple users who connect to its shared mapped drives?
Yes. You license the server computer where the software runs. On the Server edition, mapped drives can be shared to other users across the network for multi-user access. Those network users do not each need a separate license. Your cost scales with server machines, not with the number of connected people.
Does the license cost change based on how much cloud storage I access or transfer?
No. The license is a per-computer charge and does not meter storage volume or data transfer. You connect to object storage and file servers, and access files as a mapped drive. The underlying cloud storage provider bills its own storage and transfer fees separately from this software license.

What is our primary use case?
My main use case for Cloudberry is connecting to AWS services, mainly S3. I use Cloudberry to connect to AWS S3 when uploading or downloading artifacts that I need to test software applications.
What is most valuable?
Cloudberry offers simple setup, saves the settings so that you do not have to enter it the next time, and a very simple interface.
What makes the setup simple in Cloudberry is that it is not overly complicated; you can get right in, create saved connections, and then use them.
Cloudberry has positively impacted my organization because it is much easier to use than the AWS console in a browser. Cloudberry saves time and makes things easier primarily by uploading and downloading files and managing things compared to the AWS console.
What needs improvement?
Cloudberry can be improved with a more modern UI in places.

I have been using Cloudberry for 12 years.

What is our primary use case?
My main use case for Cloudberry is to check if any objects are being delivered to the configured bucket, and I usually try to schedule a file drop to the configured target.
What is most valuable?
Cloudberry offers excellent features for my needs, including a user-friendly interface with intuitive navigation and easy drag-and-drop functionality.
Cloudberry has positively impacted my organization because it allows me to easily verify the objects that are dropped, making it simple to test without having to navigate to AWS or other cloud services to check if the target has received the files.
What needs improvement?
The user interface of Cloudberry could be more refined for a better user experience. Otherwise, I do not believe Cloudberry requires any other improvements.

What is our primary use case?
My main use case for Cloudberry is to synchronize my files to S3 on AWS.
A quick specific example of how I use Cloudberry to synchronize my files to AWS S3 is putting my files on my desktop, synchronized with S3 on AWS, and the same thing with synchronizing two S3 buckets across different accounts.
What is most valuable?
The best feature Cloudberry offers is the Cloudberry MCP, synchronizing files with storage, the main storage.
Synchronization with storage stands out to me because I only use Cloudberry for synchronizing files between different S3 buckets on AWS.
Cloudberry has impacted my organization positively, as today it is easier to manage files with the different S3s and different accounts.
It made file management easier because the tasks are faster and my management of files is better.
What needs improvement?
I do not think Cloudberry needs improvement; the feature of synchronizing files is wonderful.
I did not previously use a different solution before Cloudberry. Before choosing Cloudberry, I evaluated other options, but I am not using Cloudberry today because the features to synchronize with AWS IAM roles do not exist; it only uses an access key and secret key, which is a failure of security.
Cloudberry should be made to work with IAM roles; that is my only feedback.

I needed a quick and reliable way to just mount S3 buckets to Workspaces in order to move fairly large files (10gb) reliably. Cloudberry was suggested and minutes later it was done. My clients don't have to worry about the connections as it's just a mounted drive but it takes advantage of the full S3 model where I can version and move large objects to cheaper storage as I see fit.
The best of both worlds connecting the Virtual machines to S3 made ridiculously simple through Cloudberry Drive.
I also use Cloudberry explorer for moving giant files for less tech savvy users. It gives me all the advantages of the API without the user having some steep learning curve or having to delve into the CLI.
Even the support emails have been timely and simple. I really am very pleased to have found and chosen this software.
