Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for the EC2 instance type you choose to run this pre-built file hosting server. There are no plan tiers here. Instead, each dimension maps to a specific AWS instance size, and your cost scales with the compute power you pick. Smaller general-purpose instances like t2.nano and t2.micro suit light workloads. Larger families cover compute-heavy (c-series), memory-heavy (r-series and x1), storage-heavy (d2, i-series, hs1), and GPU or accelerated needs (g-series, p2, f1). Pick the instance that matches your capacity requirements, and billing follows your actual running hours.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
One unit is one hour of runtime for the single EC2 instance you launch. The instance type you pick (for example t2.micro or c5a.xlarge) sets the software rate. You are billed for each hour that instance runs, not per user or per file stored.
The software fee meters running hours only. When you stop the instance, no software charges accrue for that idle time. Underlying AWS storage fees may still apply while the instance is stopped, but those come from AWS, not the software listing.
There are no tiers to upgrade. To add capacity, you launch a different, larger instance type from the list and your hourly rate follows that new instance. Switching instance size is a manual choice, not an automatic threshold event.
