Terraform on Ubuntu 24.04 Powered by GlobalSolutions with 24/7 Support
You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance size you run. The software is a pre-packaged Terraform machine image on Ubuntu 24.04, and the hourly rate covers the software plus 24/7 support. Seven instance options let you match compute capacity to your workload. The t3.nano, t3.small, t3.medium, and t3.large options are burstable general-purpose instances. The m7a.large, m7i.large, and m6a.large options are fixed-performance general-purpose instances. You choose one instance and pay only for the hours it runs. AWS infrastructure charges apply separately.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly unit cover for each instance option?
One unit is one running EC2 instance of the size you pick, billed per hour. Each option maps to a specific compute size. The rate covers the pre-packaged Terraform machine image and 24/7 support for that instance. AWS infrastructure charges are billed separately by AWS.
Am I charged the hourly rate when the instance is stopped?
The software rate meters running hours only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software charge. Underlying AWS storage fees for the attached volume may still apply while the instance is stopped. You pay the software rate only while the instance runs.
How do the burstable and fixed-performance options differ for my bill?
Both bill per running hour. The t3.nano, t3.small, t3.medium, and t3.large options are burstable, giving baseline CPU that can rise during bursts. The m7a.large, m7i.large, and m6a.large options give steady fixed performance. Your rate reflects the size you run, not usage bursts.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
