You pay by the hour for Apache Karaf running on a preconfigured Ubuntu 22.04 machine image. Pricing depends only on the AWS EC2 instance type you choose. The list spans many instance families, including general-purpose (m4, m5, m6, m7 series) and burstable (t2, t3 sizes. Larger instances with more vCPUs and memory carry higher hourly rates than smaller sizes. Bare-metal and network-optimized variants are also available. You run the software as long as needed and stop charges by stopping the instance. No upfront commitment applies.

You pick one EC2 instance type from the list. The hourly rate covers the Apache Karaf software running on a preconfigured Ubuntu 22.04 machine image. The rate you pay depends on the instance type's vCPU and memory size. AWS charges the underlying compute separately from this software fee.
The software fee meters running time only. When you stop the instance, the hourly software charge stops. Stored data on attached volumes may still incur AWS storage fees while the instance is stopped, but the Apache Karaf software charge applies only while the instance runs.
You are billed for one instance type at a time. Switching to a family with more vCPUs and memory raises the hourly rate. Smaller sizes carry lower rates. The change is not automatic; you select the instance type at launch, so scaling requires you to relaunch on a different type.

1.- Launch the product via 1-Click 2.- Use a web browser to access the Hawtio console at: http://[ec2-ip]:8181/hawtio, where [ec2-ip] is the public ip provided by Amazon for your instance. 3.- Log in using the following credentials: - Username: 'karaf' - Password: the 'instance_id' of the instance
You can also access your instance via SSH using the username 'ubuntu' and your Amazon private key.
