Centralized CIAM with a Steep Learning Curve

    Reviewed on Sep 28, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I like that IBM Verify CIAM gives us a centralized way to manage customer identity and authentication across different applications, which really streamlines the process for us. It makes the registration identity and verification process much simpler when new customers sign up.
What do you dislike about the product?
One area where IBM Verify CIAM could be improved is the overall learning curve. The most challenging part is understanding how the different CIAM components, authentication flow, and integration fit together. It could be more user-friendly with better integration and learning experience, possibly through more guided configuration, clear step-by-step documentation, and updated real-world examples.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
IBM Verify CIAM secures customer identities and access, centralizes management, and simplifies registration and verification. However, understanding CIAM components and integration can be challenging.

    Comprehensive APIs with Challenging Debugging

    Reviewed on Sep 28, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate IBM Verify CIAM's comprehensive set of REST APIs and modern SDK support for various development environments. Implementing standard protocols like OIDC, OAuth 2.0, and SAML is highly structured, saving us significant development time. I like that we have complete control over the user experience by using REST APIs directly, allowing us to build bespoke registration forms, login flows, and user dashboards without users noticing they are interacting with a third-party security platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Debugging specific error tokens during custom login flow implementations can be challenging due to occasionally vague error messages in the developer logs. The API documentation, while extensive, sometimes takes time to sort through to find exact edge-case solutions. Additionally, feedback suggests that configuration complexity and dashboard usability are common areas for improvement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
IBM Verify CIAM removes the burden of creating a compliant user authentication system from scratch, letting us focus on core features instead of security compliance.

    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I like that IBM Verify CIAM provides a centralized way to manage customer identities and authentication. It simplifies user authentication and identity management across applications. I also really like the functionality it offers when setting up the authentication flow. Overall, the setup is very good and enhances our experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I dislike is that the initial setup and configuration can feel a bit complex, especially when working with custom authentication flows. Some parts of the documentation could also be clearer with more practical examples. Once you get familiar with it, though, managing the setup becomes much easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use IBM Verify CIAM to simplify user authentication and identity management, which centralizes managing customer identities and authentication across applications.
