AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance type you run. Each dimension maps to a specific instance size, spanning general-purpose (m3, m4, t2, t3, t3a) and compute-optimized (c1, c3, c7a) families. Larger instances with more CPU and memory bill at higher hourly rates, while smaller instances cost less per hour. You choose the size that fits your workload, and your cost scales with the instance you select and the hours you use. This billing covers deployment and support for Couchbase managed through the Hossted Platform.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hour of billing cover for a given instance type?
Each dimension bills per hour of running time on that specific EC2 instance size. One unit equals one hour that instance runs. The rate covers deployment and 24/7 support for Couchbase managed through the Hossted Platform, running on your chosen instance in your cloud.
Am I charged when I stop or pause an instance?
Hourly software charges apply only while the instance runs. Fully stopped instances do not accrue Hossted software charges. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but the software rate meters running hours only.
How do I scale up if my Couchbase workload grows?
You move to a different instance dimension with more CPU and memory, and your hourly rate changes to match that instance. Couchbase also scales horizontally by adding nodes without downtime, so you can run more instances to spread load across your cluster.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
Our basic recomendation is to use provided security rules at least for deployment phase until successful app access. After deployment, you can access your application at http://<public IP>. (It might take up to 15 minutes to be available post-deployment). Default credentials should be username admin and password is your instance's InstanceID. If creds are not valid, check login greetings of VM. The machine should be accessible via SSH, default username: ubuntu. App login credentials (and additional app-related details) are available on message of the day (and /etc/motd).
