Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for this hardened Ubuntu 24.04 image, billed per running instance. Each dimension maps to a specific AWS EC2 instance type, so your rate depends on the size and family you launch. Smaller shared instances like t2.micro and t3.small sit at one end, while large memory, compute, storage, and accelerated instances like r8i.96xlarge, m8i.metal-96xl, and p6-b200.48xlarge cost more per hour. Rates scale with the compute, memory, and GPU capacity of your chosen instance. You can run one or many instances, and software charges accrue only while instances run.

You get an Ubuntu 24.04 server hardened using NIST and DevSec frameworks, with over 100 security controls enabled. The image is tested, audited, and updated monthly by security engineers. Premium support is included. The vendor maintains the underlying operating system so you can focus on your applications.
Software charges accrue only while an instance runs. If you stop or terminate an instance, the hourly software fee stops. Fully powered-off instances do not accrue software charges. Stopped instances may still incur separate AWS storage fees, but the software license meters running time only.
Each unit is one running EC2 instance of the type you launch, billed per hour. Your rate ties to that instance's family and size. A small shared instance like t2.micro meters differently from a large instance like r8i.96xlarge. Running more instances multiplies the hourly charge.
