Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for the ARM-based EC2 instance you run. Each dimension maps to a specific Graviton instance type and size, so pricing scales with the compute, memory, storage, or network capacity you choose. Smaller sizes like medium and large cost less per hour than larger multi-xlarge and bare-metal options. Families cover general-purpose, compute-optimized, memory-optimized, storage-optimized, and high-memory workloads. You are billed only for hours used, with no upfront commitment. The hardened operating system and vendor support apply across every instance type you select.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each unit is one running ARM-based EC2 instance of the type and size you select. You pay for every hour that instance runs. The rate reflects the compute, memory, storage, and network capacity of the chosen Graviton instance. Running more instances multiplies the hourly charge across each one.
The hourly software charge applies only while an instance runs. A stopped instance stops accruing this software fee. You may still owe separate AWS charges for attached storage while stopped, but the software meters running hours only. There is no upfront commitment.
Every instance runs a hardened Ubuntu 24.04 ARM image built with NIST and DevSec frameworks, with over 100 security controls enabled. The vendor maintains and updates the underlying operating system. Vendor support is included. These features apply the same way regardless of which instance type you choose.
