Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour based on the ARM64 (Graviton) EC2 instance type you run. Each dimension maps to a specific instance size within families like general-purpose (m8g, m7g), compute-optimized (c8g, c8gn), memory-optimized (r8g, r8gd, x8g), and storage or I/O-focused types (i8g, i8ge). Your hourly software fee scales with the size you choose, from small (medium, large) up to metal and 48xlarge configurations. AWS infrastructure charges apply separately. This usage-based model has no upfront commitment, so you select and change instances to match your workload. US-based support is included.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
The software fee meters running instance-hours only. A fully stopped instance stops accruing the hourly software charge. Underlying AWS storage for the volume may still cost you separately, but that is an AWS infrastructure charge, not the Citadel software fee.
One billed hour covers the hardened, PCI-focused Ubuntu 24.04 image running on the ARM64 (Graviton) EC2 instance type you selected. The rate is tied to that specific instance size. US-based product support and monthly patched image releases come with the subscription.
You are not locked into one size. This usage-based model has no upfront commitment. When you launch a different instance type, the hourly software rate changes to match that size. Larger sizes like metal and 48xlarge carry higher hourly rates than medium or large sizes.
