Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for a hardened, PCI-compliant Ubuntu 24.04 ARM image. Each pricing dimension maps to a specific AWS ARM-based EC2 instance type. Your rate depends on the instance you launch, not on tiers or add-ons. The software charge is the same idea across every option: it scales with the instance size and family you choose. Smaller instances like t4g.nano and medium sizes cost less per hour, while large, metal, and high-core options such as m8g.metal-48xl carry higher hourly rates. You select one instance type and are billed only for hours you run.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What exactly does the hourly software charge cover on this image?
You pay for a hardened, PCI-compliant Ubuntu 24.04 ARM image maintained by security engineers. The charge covers over 100 security controls, NIST-based hardening, and PCI compliance documentation. The vendor patches and updates the underlying operating system monthly. This software fee is separate from the AWS infrastructure cost for the instance.
Am I charged the software fee when my instance is stopped?
The software fee meters running hours only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue hourly software charges. You may still owe AWS storage fees for the attached volume while stopped, but that is separate from this software license. Charges resume when you start the instance again.
What decides my hourly rate across the many instance-type options?
One instance type drives your entire hourly software rate. There is a single metric: the AWS ARM-based instance you launch. Larger families and sizes, including metal and high-core options, carry higher hourly rates. There are no separate add-on charges, user counts, or data metrics to combine. You run one instance and pay for its hours.
