Versatile Collaboration and Brainstorming Tool

  • October 17, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro has been really helpful for collaborating with remote teams at several companies I've worked at. I've run everything from retros to workshops in there and use it for collaborative process mapping, product roadmaps, project management timelines, brainstorming, icebreaker activities, and even for creating an initial curriculum outline for a new program I was building.

I like that it's quite flexible with the objects and formatting you can get into a given board, so it really does serve a variety of purposes. Some tools that are useful for team activities are the timer and stickies, plus the ability for asynchronous commenting.

I was also really happy when Miro started allowing the integration of embedded Docs and other assets (I remember when it first came out), so it's easy to keep or reference all of the documentation for a project in one place. That makes it a great place to collect a bunch of background research, which I do frequently as a product manager and executive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Miro has been progressively improving some of the earlier issues I had when I first started using the tool, and they have a good pace of introducing new features.

If I had to list a downside, it'd be how heavy Miro is in the browser. It used to crash my older computer on a regular basis if I tried to run a video call at the same time. I've since upgraded, but I can still see it slowing things down on occasion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've used it with both teams and clients as a source of truth for different business processes and documentation. Since it allows for collaboration and commenting, it's a good place to keep all of the relevant history, related initiatives, background research, etc. together, and it helps with introducing things like a roadmap to the team in a more interactive way (vs. something like a presentation). It's easier to modify than many other tools, so boards and assets can be kept up to date for everyone to reference.

It also makes async and remote collaboration better for teams that can't get together in person. It emulates in-person retro or brainstorming sessions so I can still get productive feedback from the teams I work with.

{"I found the new prototyping tool in Miro a bit difficult to use. Despite trying it a little, it hasn't produced the results I wanted, which is frustrating considering I often use Miro for prototyping.","I feel that the quality of templates in Miro has diminished recently. They have become a lot less useful than before, which might be due to changes in the templates themselves or because I need to adjust my behavior and usage of AI and other features."}

Miro enhances my collaboration and visualization, allowing me to easily visualize, discuss, and prioritize tasks efficiently.

  • October 17, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
{"I find Miro incredibly intuitive to use right from the start.","Miro is excellent for research, information gathering, and harmonizing, making it easy to lay out thoughts and research in a scientific and clear way.","I appreciate how easy it is to collaborate with people using Miro.","I enjoy using Miro for sense-making, gathering ideas, mind mapping, and as a work tool.","I love the ability to quickly insert documents and make mind maps, connecting the dots through links and research.","I think Miro is by far the greatest tool I've used for these purposes.","I would definitely recommend Miro to others and have done so several times."}
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the infrastructure of setting up team collaboration on Miro boards quite difficult. It was challenging to organize boards with different people and teams, leading to some initial complications. Additionally, there are limits to the size and amount of text that can be imported, which I find restrictive. I want to be able to work with text in a more professional manner and be able to write an unlimited amount within a more integrated text interface inside Miro.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I find Miro extremely useful for research and information organization, enabling easy idea collaboration and visualization. It helps me layout my thoughts clearly and facilitates effective teamwork.
