Miro: my day to day work cornerstone

  • May 11, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
MIRO is super flexible. I can virtually do everything I need with the tool to record, structure and share my ideas. The integration with JIRA is a big plus for my job.
What do you dislike about the product?
The fact that under a MIRO project it is not possible to structure the board list. A très view (kind of folder structure ) would be great
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can easily visualy share anything with my team. They can then add their input. Afterwards we all see it living (being updated).
Whan something needs to be shared in a meeting, i can easily trabsform the frames in my board into slides. It is then super easy while presenting to adapt my board with the infos gathered during the meeting.
I gain a lot of time with the tool
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For me it is the best whiteboard++ tool on the market

Better than the real deal...

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, workshop documentation included without additional effort, even better than doing workshops onsite, flexible license model (when understood), great for all kind of online collaboration situations, lots of template to use in MIROverse
What do you dislike about the product?
Opening a link to a board opens MIRO in a browser even though the app is installed. License model seems to be easy but is quite complex and difficult to understand
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use MIRO for workshops with customers and internal seminars. In addition, we started using MIRO for trainings, as project boards, retrospectives, and even feedback sessions with employees
Recommendations to others considering the product:
When you start using it, use the available training material. It's great and helpful in rolling MIRO out

Great for all kinds of digital & "phy-gital" work

  • May 11, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Intuitive: easy to get started and get going with navigation similar to PowerPoint and other wellknown programs.
Simple: easy to work within Miro for most people - great for firsttime users.
Extensive: infinite number of possibilities with add-ons (icons, wireframes, images, framework, templates etc) so you can go well beyond sticky notes
Multiple use cases: naturally designed to facilitate digital workshops, there are so many other options for using Miro - note-taking, desk research, research synthesis, project management, planning, moodboard, design sprints etc. etc. etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
Too much screen time - would be great to be able to get away from the screen, but still have the digital documentation that Miro is great for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Limitations to meet up - both internally in our company and externally with clients.
Possibility to work more free than in other program (PowerPoint, Keynote etc.)
Making digital work feel more creative.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Keep evolving the use into other use cases - there are so many different ways to get value out of Miro!

The best collaboration tool on the market

  • May 11, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro is for me the best collaboration tool on the market. All the features are really well thought. I especially like the timer, the voting system, the ability to add comments. Everything is easy to use. When you are many on the same board, it does not seem to slow down. You can really collaborate and add elements to the board at the same time.
I also use it when I work alone. It is a great tool to organise my thoughts. Formatting is super easy and well thought through. Like how spaces and alignment are kept very neatly when you enlarge or reduce the size of multiple objects at the same time.

And Miro is also adding new valuable features all the time.

I use it multiple times per day and consider it the best tool for its purpose after having tried many others.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much that I dislike. Some very minor things in the interface that I got to get used to. But nothing significant.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can:
- Facilitate workshops online
- Collaborate to generate models, new ideas
- Brainstorm
- Use it at my Kanban board
- Design presentations

Great agile/team tool to drive engagement and productivity

  • May 11, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the freedom in design, the templates, the ability to integrate into other systems. The ability to share and collaborate with peers, to get support thought leadership and solution design. I also like the ability to shift to presentation mode to drive consistency and remove rework into packs.

I love the way I can zoom in and out and track where others are on a pack, this helps when we are slightly distracted. Copying functions help me to quickly duplicate.

I like that I can import images and links that are visual and not just hyperlinks. Makes the platform a 1 stop shop.
What do you dislike about the product?
Grouping in templates, it would be easier if they were ungrouped or notification to say they were grouped. I would like to see improvement in the colour palets. Also sizing of objects like post it's are limited.

It's hard for a new user to intuitively use the platform. They get nervous when joining for the first time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Team effectiveness, ownership and moving faster. We are able to deliver programs without ambiguity, drive accountability and really make changes to better care of our Teams and Customers.

Bring the team together in ways they have been unable to do so in a virtual environment, particularly during covid.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would highly recommend Miro, it's fun, practicle and easy to use - with practice. Share with your teams, stakeholders and even the kids. We as an organisaton love the collaborative functions and the engagement/ownership applied. Have a crack, play around and utilise the templates, anything you want to do has alreayd been done before and you can be creative and plan/execute with ease.

It's important to note that all of the other tools like Asana / Trello have similar functionality build into this. It's a one stop shop.

An excellent tool for diagraming and mind-maps

  • May 10, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best things about Miro that I like are:
- Collaborative space
- Easy to use
- Variety of templates
- Nice graphics
What do you dislike about the product?
At the moment I don't have anything that I dislike, but the tool can be improved by adding templates about mechanical and structural templates and tools like dimensions tool, engineering symbols, a ruler, and grouping shapes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are an Engineering Development team located in different countries around the world.
With Miro we can co-create and prepare a different set of mind maps, flow diagrams and boards for all the company projects.
Also, the possibility to invite collaborator is a plus because Miro permits to interact with them in a different way, avoiding boring emails or static meetings.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use the tool to call meetings with external customers, and captures directly his ideas as the clients have in mind.

    Public Relations and Communications

It is very easy to map complex processes with Miro. I love it!

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best is that I can use Miro for meetings. In my company, we only work online, and I missed the whiteboard from the office to present complex relationships understandably. As a product owner, I always have to consider the interactions and edge cases. With the easy creation of flowcharts, I can immediately recognize edge cases and consider them in the flowchart immediately.

Linking to other tools like Jira is a dream.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing so far. Maybe you could optimize the video calls a bit to adjust the size of the video participants, expand and shrink, but this is an excitement feature and has only low prioritization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Miro to create story and epic maps, develop user flows with edge cases, develop roadmaps. The boards serve me as a guide in meetings.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Miro is very comprehensive, especially for complex contexts. It is very multifunctional.

Best collaborative whiteboard I ever used

  • May 10, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
unlimited space, maximum flexibility and lots of useful templates. Collaboration tools are great and it's easy to use, when working with clients who use it the first time. The voting is extremely useful and I like the option of sharing single boards with selected members of my clients organisations.
What do you dislike about the product?
i was pondering about this question for a minute and still I have nothing to complain about. Even my kids are using Miro at their Universities during the lockdown and are quite happy. I asked them and they also said they have no dislikes
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it as a virtual whiteboard for any kind of collaboration with my clients, as there are:
- mindmaps of any kind
- namefinding/branding
- brainstormings
- organisational diagrams
etc etc

It's also a great tool for collecting documents, web clips, youtube videos etc etc at one board while doing research on a subject

Great brainstorming tool

  • May 09, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love it being a blank canvas with all the possibilities to explore your ideas. I can start with a simple list and expand it into a mindmap. I really enjoy the integrations because when clients aren't used to the platform we can add their google docs and/or other items onto their Miro board. It's a really easy-to-use platform and it's easy to get used to the navigation of the software. I really like that people I invite don't have to create an account because people don't want to remember passwords which reduces the barrier of entry.
What do you dislike about the product?
On the same token, it could sometimes be overwhelming to have so many possibilities, but the templates they have available offer that support to avoid starting from scratch. I didn't like the app because it seemed to be slow or not connect to my stylus pad, so I began using the web version and it works just fine. I have to remind myself to be patient with the loading time, it could be my internet or the complexity of my boards, perhaps a quick preview instead of having to download the full PDF/JPEG would be helpful. I would love to restrict access to certain tasks like preventing my clients from adding boxes or moving them and only letting them use stickies so my workflow doesn't accidentally get messed up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've created plans with clients, full-on dashboards with teams to work together, and I have added deliverables to clients on Miro so they have a one-stop shop for their business.

Addicted! so many uses!

  • May 09, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Everything - flexibility, adaptability, embedded tools, visualization, collaboration, templates, communication, intuitive design for users (who don't have time to learn all the tutorials!) . I love that you can do mind mapping as well as brainstorming, wireframes, kanban and such a breadth of different activities and that you can communicate with each other throughout.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hardly anything! (but I never have time to learn all the ways to use it!). Occasionally, I'll see a certain template being advertised but then when I search for it (by the name in the email sent by Miro) I can't find it. That's a little confusing, but I have not yet asked for help so perhaps there is an easy remedy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Problems solved: educational workshops to solve design problems and generate new design solutions, wireframe development to create new platforms, team planning and task tracking, group problem solving, keeping people engaged in long virtual meetings.
Benefits: accelerated progress, clear, shared understanding of issues and solutions (in an especially pleasing visual way), output to share and publicize easily, creativity (enhances people's ability to think and be creative), great for introverts who need more (or isolated) processing time before contributing - they can do it on their own time and not feel like they have to "speak up" in time with rest of group. Also, people can come back at any time and continue to add thoughts/content 24/7 which is great, especially when you have people contributing from all around the world.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It doesn't matter if you don't have time or don't feel comfortable with technology, Miro is so easy and intuitive to use that you will dive in and feel fine right away! You (or your collaborators) don't even need to log in or take that extra step if you're in a virtual meeting or workshop. The output is really great right away and you don't have to spend time reformatting, recreating, or anything before you use it in follow-up materials. The templates provided are just mind-boggling!! anything you need is there.
