Miro makes every co-work better, faster and intuitive

  • June 04, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that Miro has lots of templates, which gives me many insights on how to conduct facilitations. It is easy to collaborate, even with dozens of people in one session. The features that have been released in the past few weeks seem to develop the interaction experience inside the board.

One of the most important thing nowadays is integration, and Miro fulfill theses needs perfectly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I struggle to work with data on Miro, being a challenging task to import or export the content that isn't visual alike.

In my opnion, the dashboard in the home is a little bit confusing, many times in a teamwork space, lots of boards are created without a cover, making pretty hard to search the board you want. Besides the fact that you can create folder to organize your job, the boards could have tags to make filters more powerfull.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
First of all, I think Miro is an excellent place to centralize information during creative work. I feel significantly more comfortable using Miro stickers where I can separate themes by tags having a clearer vision of the whole.

When it comes to make collaborative sessions, I use Miro often to make onboardings of new members of the enterprise, conducting ice breakers, team build activities and make design think jobs. I also use to make presentations because I think is far better to make the audience engaged when they have to participate activily.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
My advice for those who are considering using Miro is to use templates and Learn & Inspire session.

The easiest online whiteboard

  • June 03, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I can run a remote workshop with people who are entirely new to using an online whiteboard. Miro is intuitive to use, so we don't waste time on getting the hang of the technology.

Unlike a physical whiteboard, I never run out of room - the ideas can just keep on coming!

I love the template library - lots of good inspiration there.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost for a couple of users is really accessible, but when you have larger teams, it can get pricey. The control of guest users can be a bit frustrating at times. Miro encourages guests to sign up, and then I have to remove them again in order to manage my subscription costs.

Sometimes it's easy for inexperienced guests to move around background items, like table grids, which can quickly get messy. You can lock them, but guests sometimes manage to unlock them. It would be great to be able to lock items permanently to anyone except the creator.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Miro as a whiteboard while working with people in different locations.

I tend to use it in customer experience work, e.g., journey mapping, empathy mapping.

It's handy for delivering training exercises too.

The go-to tool for anything visual in remote teams and presentations.

  • June 03, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We use Miro in many different ways in the company. It is excellent as a collaborative whiteboard on our meetings with our mainly remote staff to quickly share ideas. I use it also as a presentation tool where I can sketch the concepts and then take the others along my thought process with follow me feature. Its simple yet powerful set of primitives are usually fine for most of our needs, but there are always plugins and extensions when needed. One can add almost anything with drag and drop. Last but not least, comments can be added anywhere, which makes refining anything to be presented to the client very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's simplicity means it's not the best tool for complex drawings like UML or circuit diagrams, there are better tools for that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The most common use cases we use Miro for are shared whiteboard during meetings, collaborative presentations creating, and UX/UI sketching. But over time, it has become the go-to tool for anything visual. For us, it has completely replaced vector drawing programs, Powerpoint, UI sketching tools, and we even use it for planning and scrum on smaller projects.

Best co-working tool to organize team brainstorming

  • June 03, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- Stable and fluid experience even with relatively large number of people on the platform
- Mind-mapping tools and pre-set templates to organize different discussions
- Lots of extensions - especially the Figma plugin
- Ability to play music during the brainstorming timers
What do you dislike about the product?
- Need a team to truly get the most of Miro
- Locking objects is not very intuitive and takes time getting used to
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Can imagine a future where remote work is truly possible because of Miro (and gets better if you own an iPad)
- Free brainstorming discussions where we can collaborate together
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Explore if you can access Miro through partnerships with accelerators etc. or through the personal plan to understand if its right for you and your team. It's truly best if you can experience Miro with a team. It gets better once you learn how to use frames and lock objects so people don't inadvertently move things around.

Next level collaboration tool !

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
That you can collaborate in realtime just like in a rooms
What do you dislike about the product?
I sometimes slows don the computor when using teams and Miro together. When sharing the screen with Microsoft teams and running Miro with a large (more than 4-5 people) it quickly eats your memor and everything gets slow. The voting process could be improved a bit. If you have use it to vote on stickers that have been grouped together and you want the group to be the thing you vote on thats not possible. Now you have to vote on only the single individual stickers within that group. Sure you can add upp the nyber of votes to see the totality but a feature to group a number of stickers would be nice. In the beginning it was hard to know the exakt tips and trix I use today to make my life easier. For example knowing that you can select multibple items by holding down the shift key and then draging the mous was something I had to google to find out before knowing. This is now a lifesaver for me and I cant live without it. Having this as some sort of tool tip in the beginning would have been nice.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The retrospectives are perfect to use with Miro and I have realized that in Covid times you can still have collaborative sessions even online
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look through the templates, there are so many good to choose from!

Just what we needed

  • June 02, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro has many templates to choose from. When we needed the functionality of a physical whiteboard to manage day to day projects and move items around, Miro had what we needed. Since WorkFromHome began for our company, we use Miro on a daily basis because of how easy it is to move the items on our virtual "whiteboard" around and how much it looks and feels like our physical whiteboard in the office. It is easy to use and figure out as well - we got Miro up and running in one day.
What do you dislike about the product?
You can be pretty clunky in Miro, but sometimes if you're not too careful or moving too quickly, you can easily select an item from the board that you didn't mean to.

Other than that, we haven't had issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miro is helping us function exactly the same as we would in the physical office, but virtually as our team works from home.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would highly recommend Miro if you want the look and feel of a physical whiteboard but in a virtual environment. Also, if you're working on any kind of project that includes collaboration and visualization, this is a great tool.

An enjoyable program

  • June 02, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I used this board to share with a number of people in a workshop remotley to do some problem solving and found Miro to be an excellent tool to navigate and faciltate around this. The sharing and interactive aspects of this were probably my favoutite feature of Miro alongside the aesthetics of creating good slides too.
What do you dislike about the product?
we had to share the link of the MIro boards to all the people on the training and I would say around 20% really struggled in some way accessing the screen or using the board features for the first time. The scroll and and move functions seemed to create barriers for some.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been trying to do some Theory of Change problem solving, using a SWOT analysis and PESTLE models as well as an evaluation framework
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Spend a bit of time learning how to make basic presentations and use the community to support with any aspects to develop a better understanding of the capabilities of the software

The ULTIMATE collaboration tool

  • June 01, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's very easy to use and has a rich set of features, including numerous templates and tools that are useful for agile teams as well as general collaboration. It's unlimited whiteboard size lets whatever you're working on grow organically without constraints, which is a boon for creative and collaborative work.
What do you dislike about the product?
Organisations are typically resistant to use it in my experience, out of concern that they will be putting sensitive information on a platform that is outside of their domain. It can take a few seconds to show that there is content on a newly loaded space, which might be confusing for those new to the tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration - particularly post-Covid-19 - is increasingly between remote participants, making online tools an essential aspect of any facilitator's approach. The suite of tools and templates provided within Miro, combined with its incredibly intuitive user experience, means that Miro is now arguably BETTER than in-person collaboration for many situations. I've managed everything from 2-person brainstorms to hundred+ participant planning sessions, doing everything from mindmaps to PI planning, including photos, virtual post-it notes, and even embedded JIRA cards and it all just works! It's painless, easy, and effective.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a go; you can use it on a small scale for free and that's definitely the best way to get to grips with it. Only you will know if it will work for you, and trying it is the best way to find out.

Incredible tool. Online collaboration is now engaging

  • June 01, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The "infinite" space to work on. It allows boards to grow indefinitely as our engagement with clients continues over time, without the need to add more and more links to different boards; this also allows you to look at the team's own journey from the beginning. I also love the new functionalities on Video calls, chats and reactions.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be awesome if we'd have the option of making the video calls full screen from time to time. Sometimes you just want to see each other and not the board, and for that reason, we are still using Miro while having a call using another app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaborating virtually

Great collaboration and brainstorming tool which I recommend to everyone!

  • June 01, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how fluid and intuitive the interface is. It means I can brainstorm and diagram and map out things myself and work in a collaborative context with others without being delayed or hindered by the program. The pop-up editing tools and quick grips are especially useful, I used to always prefer pen and paper for initial mind mapping and such, but with Miro, I can be almost as quick and end up with a result that others can read!
I also love that I can add multiple templates onto one board, as I don't always know when starting what will be needed.
I like that you let people have 3 free boards. This allows us to try it out prior to paying for a team account for our work area. And, it's great that we can still have three free boards after that, as this helps me make some personal maps without them having to be in the main project team space.
What do you dislike about the product?
I was going to say difficulting in window selecting objects but thought I should quickly google that and found out that yes, indeed, Miro does that (hold Shift when using the Select tool)
The other trouble is that while frames work well, if you want to print out multiple frames into a PDF in a certain order, that doesn't work.
One other thing that is sometimes irritating - when I drop post-it notes in an area that already has, for example, a mind map laid out, they appear some large default size and do not take into account the size of the shapes in the existing map. This means I have to
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mapping out high level flows
Conceptual Diagrams
Grouping of (post-it note) ideas as a team, to determine priorities and next steps
Benefits include doing these things easily and in visually clear and attractive ways, doing multiple things in one space, and live collaboration which works great for team meetings.
