Best all around app for brainstorming, workshopping and online collaboration

  • April 23, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I do really like the UX of miro, so as templates and all the different plugins. I also like the new features like the Consulting package option with the guest sharing system (and now with the naming feature). It's a big plus when it comes to SMBs cost efficiency.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would not say "don't like" it but for new customers, we have to spend time to onboard them, to learn how to navigate on a canvas and how to use miro overall. I would be nice to just send them a quick tour guide type of thing.

What I don't like is that in some cases moving objects around can be tricky. I'm mostly thinking about dot voting in workshops. Its so easy to not grab but scale the small dots that sometimes it can be extremely frustrating.
I would love to have the way voting works in the new FigJam app in miro.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Me and my company were using miro way before the covid thing for online remote collaboration, but recently it become our no1 tool for meetings, workshops or any kind of brainstorming where we want to visually capture ideas, user journeys. I particularly love the mind maps. It helps soo much for clients to organize stuff.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I can highly recommend Miro for anyone who likes to visualize ideas, concepts on a whiteboard. I found it much easier to explain complicated concepts to clients this way.

Miro inspires my team's innovation

  • April 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Everything, We love the stickies, the voting feature, the templates, the voting. Miro is constantly uploading new features, and I'm still discovering all it has to offer. With every new template and I feel our creativity expanding.
What do you dislike about the product?
The video can be buggy & unstable at times and distract from the experience. There have been a few times when other users have been able to move my frames around the board, and that can be disorienting too. Perhaps theres a setting I missed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team uses Miro mostly to brainstorm new products & services internally, do retrospectives. We facilitate strategic planning, retrospective, & brainstorming workshops for our customers, manage internal workflows with the Kanban, use the mindmap to sketch out ideas & marketing content. We use the customer journey template to work through our new sales cycle and customer journey. I feel like we are only scraping the tip of the iceburg of all Miro has to offer. As our business grows our use of Miro is growing too!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
if you are looking for an engaging and interactive experience for your virtual team and customers, seriously consider adding Miro to your toolkit!

Elevate your white-boarding collaborative work experience

  • April 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro is honestly the best virtual white-boarding and collaborative tool out there! The collaborative ability to brainstorm remotely but together and the features Miro has to allow our creativity to come out. While getting my coworkers started on Miro, they especially appreciated and were a fan of the helpful onboarding tips. Using the app, to them, felt intuitive. This made using Miro to showcase my research synthesis and working with my co-workers a lot easier - so thanks Miro for that!
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love to have an excellent way to organize boards or to have a visual way to label the boards. I'd need to click on the board itself to recall what the conten was in it.
There's a bit of a drawback with using the app itself because it lags when moving objects around. This makes myself as a user use the app a bit less efficiently.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A significant problem my team and I are solving with Miro is how we collaborate as a team. Working in a company remotely has had its challenges. Making an effort of how to improve our collaborative skills was essential to us. Miro's helped with getting on a call and start mapping and moving ideas around.
Synthesizing user research and visually putting data information to where I need/want to place them. It also helps to communicate the data I've gathered with my team. Doing this has improved the way we see and view data, and with that, we've enjoyed organizing our research findings.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a great tool to allow for collaborative teamwork. There are templates to try out if you need help on coming up with a template.

A Solid Teaching Tool with Room for Improvement, even if you still use NPS ;)

  • April 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I use Miro primarily as an online whiteboard for teaching and organizing my thoughts. I really appreciate its interactive teaching format, which is ideal for developing ideas with colleagues. Miro offers a shared space where participants can engage by moving sticky notes, sorting information, and working with templates, making collaborative work much smoother. I find it particularly user-friendly and straightforward; even a brief five-minute introduction helps others navigate it effectively. It's a clean, efficient online whiteboard that enhances collaboration significantly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find it challenging to locate my boards within Miro, especially since I work on multiple projects across different accounts. It's often difficult to find the specific board I need, as the organization and visibility of my most important boards, or collections, don't always align with my needs. Some of the main collections or folders tend to become invisible for unexplained reasons, whereas others that I rarely use are easily accessible. Additionally, there used to be no way to search for boards across different accounts or folders. This lack of comprehensive search functionality is particularly frustrating, as it forces me to manually jump between accounts or folders to locate what I need. I wish there was a seamless way to search and access all my boards in one place, at least by title.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Miro for teaching and organizing ideas, benefiting from a shared space where colleagues can interact by moving stickies and using templates. It's easy to use, making online collaborations clear and efficient.

Great white boarding tool for remote collaboration

  • April 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to quickly visualize ideas through various ways (post-it notes, quick drawings, wireframing). This helps us create quick designs that further discussions. As we all are remote at this time, this is critical since we all can't stand next to a whiteboard. once we have an alignment in the team, we can use the same quick visuals to validate our ideas with customers.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has a lot of features, and I am just not aware of all the great features. As I was looking to find what I dislike, I noticed another feature I would benefit from using. Another potential problem (but I don't think that is Miro), is the single sign-on we have. any new user has to go through our IT team before they can start contributing. This causes issues if someone forgot to go through that step before a workshop.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am primarily using it for design definition work and aligning designers, product management, and engineering on the direction the design should take. By making it visual, we all can make sure we have a common understanding of what we think should be built and, easily address any differences in opinions. We also use those "crappy" designs to validate with customers we are on the right track before even starting to do any more detailed design.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I have used a few other whiteboard collaboration tools, but none of them have measured up to what Miro delivers.
Give Miro a try, it is very intuitive to get started with and also supports many different needs.

A perfect tool for collaborative teamwork

  • April 21, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro is an endless board beneficial for meetings and keeping track of the work that everyone is doing on a specific project. It's easy to set up projects and use professional templates to improve its framework. There is a lot of more interaction and more valuable contributions when using its boards. Miro offers many different tools that boost our creativity in one single app.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the use of the mouse on the board can provoke some small mistakes when selecting or trying to move some elements. UX can be improved, but I'm sure that it's also important to get used to the tool to take advantage of all the possibilities it offers for teamwork. That will take us some time but I'm sure the reward will be worth it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We keep more focused on working on our projects with Miro boards. For us, using templates from the app or Miroverse is an excellent upgrade to our former way of approaching our processes of work. Miro helps our team to better understand what we do and how to improve it, showing all the information in a very visual way. What you see is what you get... and you see a full bunch of tools ready to use to make a difference with your work.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If your try it, your team will simply love it. It will be a great tool to improve its performance and adopt strategies that make a difference. Miro has everything to become an essential platform for your team and boost the creativity and effectiveness of your employees work. Try its templates to better understand the possibilities of its endless boards. Your achievement of objectives will surely increase.

Quick, intuitive and creative collaboration tool

  • April 21, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Most helpful for me is the possibility to visualize processes quickly. I can add specific colors, which fit our corporate identity. There are dozens of templates to use.
I can easily share the content and work with my colleagues on the boards, even if they are "just" guests.
I really like that the frames can be extended to any size, so it's great to fit also complex processes on the board. Having the board unlimited is a real bonus, as many frames as you like can be added and shifted around. With the presentation mode you can adapt the order of the frames during the presentation, still they stay the same order on the board, which I think is very helpful for presenting to different clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
Exporting content seems a bit tricky sometimes as it goes wrong or doesn't save. Unfortunately, you cannot export to PowerPoint which makes it complicated as I work with both of them and sometimes I need to re-do a layout as not everyone uses miro.
The zooming is a bit ennerving as it's sometimes to close or to far away or moves around.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's very adaptive, and there are a lot of quick tutorials. There are a lot of helpful integrations. For it's great to show processes and work together on the improvement.
The biggest problem I could solve was the limited space I had with other tools, that was a great improvement.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need an easy collaboration tool to visualize processes and work together with your team without a big intro, I can recommend miro!

I used Miro since it was named Realtime Board, happy with it since then.

  • April 21, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
When I found about the tool years ago, for me, the most crucial part was to bring and store digitally all workshops that I was conducting in a physical environment, so all those stickies that were placed all over the wall could be revisited in the future so it wasn't a matter of a fun day exploring or an ideation session, but I could use them to share the knowledge and decisions taken that day and revisit whenever was needed.

Nowadays, for me, the best is the collaborative way of working in Miro and also the fact that you can align with multiple stakeholders over the same board without being in the same room.
What do you dislike about the product?
The different projects are stored because, by default, they all go to the dashboard in an immense list. I know now you can create projects but still...

I would improve the way of importing screenshots from Figma to Miro. Sometimes annotations get mixed between the actual "Comments' functionality, and some other participants make comments directly on a sticky, which makes the communication to be held in different channels within the same tool and also normally, the comments on stickies usually are more taken into account, and the ones under the comments functionality go unnoticed
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Remote workshops, aligned with Developers and product teams. It helps us (UX designers) to be involved during the decision making and ideation together with the rest of the stakeholders and we sometimes create wireframes quickly at the moment of ideation so stakeholders can have more visual ideas
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Long time user, and it has done nothing but improve

MIro is THE collaboration for technical teams in the new WFH and offshore era

  • April 01, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro's workspace is infinite. It has every type of template for mapping, ideation, notes, diagramming, etc., AND, best of all, the arrow connectors work between every type of diagram - genius. As soon as we get approval to move to the corp plan, we're looking forward to integrating with Jira - I've always disliked Jira for its poor handling of diagrams and sketches. Now we will be able to move the requirements out to Mira and track the stories in Jira. The Mira 3 boards trial has made it possible for us to work with the tool extensively, including testing Teams integration, Kanban, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
It seems to be missing some generic icons for networking and apps such as servers, switches, and databases (yes, there are various packages for Cisco, AWS, Azure, etc., just no generics.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before I was always creating maps and diagrams on my Mac during calls with my offshore team - the problem was I'm the only Mac user - so no one else could interact. There are no Windows tools that work as fast as Mac tools in this space (i have both machines for work). Now my entire team can create and collaborate visually as well as create reference documents that are more easily accessible than Sharepoint
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There are a lot of collaboration tools available. If you and your team think & communicate visually, have both logical and abstract thoughts, or handing off to different timezones, as my teams do....this is it. For us, having Jira integration wasn't a must, but it was the icing on the cake. The template options are expansive AND very useful. We can go from a brainstorm concept to something valuable in a matter of mins compared to using a whiteboard option or powerpoint.

Collaborate on almost anything

  • March 11, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The sheer number of possibilities of what Miro can be used for and the ability to collaborate efficiently in real-time on any of them. it’s one of those tools where you are unsure how you managed without it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the output cannot be controlled visually and you are reliant on the objects in their toolset. If you are a control freak then you may not like the fact you are reliant on the shapes, fonts and colours that are pre-built into the app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Miro for so many things it’s impossible to list them but here are some examples:
Design thinking workshop collaboration
Service blueprint visualisation
Documentation for wireframes and UI design
User flows, screen flows, process flows (so many flows)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You may need to reconsider how you work and allow yourself to give in to the collaborative tools here instead of relying on old individual ways of working. There are tools that do some of what is available in Miro but there are very few tools that do everyhing.
