Essential tool for everyday work

  • November 25, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
First things first: It's easily accessible and I can quickly share content, both via link or more secure ways. I use it almost everyday for my own personal boards and collaboration efforts. Cloud based front-end means no installation and quick implementation for any group. Collaboration for workshops and coaching settings is easy and allows fast client onboarding. Most of the time quite stable and fast. Many options for layout and easy integration of images and icons for visually appealing boards. Integrates with many third party tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
100% cloud based leads to a dependency on the backend. This works 99% of the time, but when it doesn't there is no way to access your data. Better make backups and have a plan B in your sleeves. Simple onboarding is easy, but being productive in more complex scenarios needs a learning curve. Many features tend to move around in the UI and sometimes it can be hard to orient yourself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaborative workshops with clients: Helps to engage everyone and collect results.
Project management: Keep all project data together, manage roadmaps, concepts and visual diagrams. Share information with stakeholders.
Personal Mindmapping and concepting: Easy tool for mindmaping and drawing concepts in an almost unlimited canvas

Collaborative powerhouse with exciting AI features, a must-have for Teamwork!

What do you like best about the product?
Miro has become an essential tool for my me and the team. We use it weekly for our team and 1:1 meetings, Ideas repository, and workshops. It’s amazing for working together in real time: it’s fast, easy to use, and keeps everyone aligned.
I don’t always use the templates directly, but I love browsing through them for inspiration when I’m stuck.
The new AI features, like grouping ideas and sticky notes, are a fantastic addition. They’re making Miro even more valuable, and I can see so much potential as these features get more refined.

I also like that we can create different areas to organize our projects and boards, especially considering we're a big organization. This helps to keep permissions and access organized.
We neved had to call customer support, and we've been using the tool consistently for more than 3 years now!
What do you dislike about the product?
When you’re working on a really packed board, it can slow down, which gets frustrating. We have this issue in our weekly meeting that we are now running for more than a year, but we want to keep the board together to have consistency and relatability to what happened/actions etc.

Also, it can feel a bit overwhelming for newbies—there are so many features that it’s hard for them to know where to start. Sometimes during workshop, as facilitator, we had to take the ownership to write on postit on behalf of the person.

It would be great if you had a more guided intro or easier way to organize boards/having smaller set of funcionalities enabled if the participant flag him/herself as a newbie.

A better offline mode would be a game-changer too—sometimes you just need to work without Wi-Fi!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Improved collaboration across teams is at the top.
It bridges communication gaps, especially for remote or hybrid teams, allowing everyone to contribute in real time, no matter where they are.
This is invaluable for brainstorming, team meetings, and workshops.
We use it even if everyone is in person as it helps structure the workshop and manage the ideation, but mostly is beneficial for the facilitators after the workshop to quickly create wrap ups and organize the content.

What would I do without Miro?

What do you like best about the product?
Miro is part of my everyday work with clients. I'm able to quickly map out ideas, workflows, charts, etc., that serve as visual aids during client calls. I can invite clients to boards for them to comment and edit. In our world of working remotely and virtually, Miro is a perfect whiteboard when we can't be physically in the same room with a real whiteboard.
What do you dislike about the product?
I honestly can't think of anything I don't like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miro provides an easy and seamless way to work through projects and tasks together with clients. Our project documents will almost always link over to Miro boards.

Favourite everyday tool

What do you like best about the product?
Creative flowcharting templates and customization
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing is its difficult when trying to export clear flowcharts into presentations. The size of the diagrams often doesn’t match the dimensions of my PowerPoint slides, and when I copy and paste a large flowchart from Miro, it usually loses clarity and text looks blurry. This means I end up spending extra time adjusting the image size and quality to make it fit, which is time-consuming.

Another area where Miro could improve is in automating the process of summarizing text and creating flowcharts. It would be really helpful to have a tool that could automatically summarize long paragraphs into smaller, concise points, and then generate a flowchart from those points without needing to manually input each element. This feature would save a lot of time, especially when dealing with complex processes like for example in pharmaceutical manufacturing processes with large amounts of text.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miro helps me as a process engineer in the pharmaceutical industry by streamlining process improvements, root cause analysis, and compliance checks. It helps me to easily visualize and mapping out workflows, identify inefficiencies, and collaborate on solving problems. Tools like Fishbone diagrams helps in investigating deviations and aids in comparing current processes with industry standards, ensuring compliance. This all adds significant value by enhancing efficiency, collaboration.

Simple way to express complicated thoughts

What do you like best about the product?
I use Miro to visualize my CRM processes. It helps me to simply visualize my thoughts and colaborate in complicated IT processes. Other than that it can be just a big whiteboard for everything
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love to have an easier scaling of elements and texts. It should be easy to match the right sizes of elements and texts. Other than that more included icons would help a lot aswell.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Breaking complicated processes down in simple steps

When summarizing a meeting, after summarizing

  • November 22, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like using mind maps. By using them during meetings, I can represent different topics by adding branches and delve deeper into topics by extending branches. Additionally, by using different colors for the branches, I can indicate major topic shifts. Finally, I add map annotations using shapes. (At this time, make the text color gray, increase the font size, and place it at the very back so it's easy to understand even from a bird's-eye view!) By organizing in this way, I'm often asked by colleagues to share my materials.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am using Miro for free. Since I can only have three boards, I want to sign up for a paid plan, but the monthly fee is high, and I can't make the decision to subscribe.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used to prefer writing mind maps on paper, but by trying out Miro, the flexibility of mind maps has significantly increased, such as extending the position of branches and folding them. Additionally, the function to align shapes and other elements is sophisticated, making it easy to create the materials I envision.
