What do you like best about the product?
The ease of integration and the benefit of monitoring from the tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dynatrace is an expensive solution even though it's a great product.

Ensuring we receive the alerts before anyone else and enhance our process.
Expedient Product Usage Insight
What do you like best about the product?
I have been able to quickly gain insight to how our product is being used and the trouble shooting capability with Session Replay has benefited our Customer Support Team.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have only been using Dynatrace for approx 6 months. I'm still learning the ins/outs of how to quickly gain insight into application health and P0/P1 type incidents for proper monitoring/alerting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quick troubleshooting and incident investigation. User session replay has been advantageous across multiple teams, with the ability to provide quick inisght.

Real time monitor support for the prod users

Lack of documentation and on-premise dynatrace engineer is not helping us much

What do you like best about the product?
We are able to test our network in main regions we do not have systems in. e.g. Mainland China
What do you dislike about the product?
We dislike that the service is credit based rather than being unlimited usage. We'd like to test more regions than we currently are able to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to test our connections in regions we don't have access to. We were able to identify slow downs in mainland China, and some connection issues in Africa.
Great tool for the right team
What do you like best about the product?
There are very deep metrics that can be reached and provides a lot of robust dashboards to ingest those metrics. The root cause feature is accurate and can be a real time saver. I also really like being able to track all user transaction and play them back for troubleshooting purposes.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is a bit overwhelming if you are not engaged in it all of the time. It is pretty clearly geared towards a development team and not an infrastructure team / NOC. It does bring in some infrastructure metrics as well but it is clear that it did not start out that way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dynatrace has really helped us to pinpoint issues in our web services that were difficult to find previously. Being able to get to the transactions that occurred during a time with a problem is nice and really helps.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be sure that you evaluate the information you will receive from Dynatrace and that it fits with your goals. There are other providers out there that can give a different view of things geared towards different types of teams. That being said, if you are using it in a more DEV type environment, then it would be very hard to beat.
The product is quite expensive in general but dedicated fo critical applications

It is quite expensive In general so may be use only for critical apps. Host env monitoring should be cost less

dynatrace helped app teams understood an application in the better way
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try at least the POC for one application ,easy installation and set up and then take a decision

What I have used the most are the synthetic monitoring tests which turned out to be quite helpful to detect issues in production.

It turns out hard to tickle the synthetic tests after being recorded with the browser plugin

Being able to detect faults and outages in production.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get some information from people who have already use the tool and ask for possible problems faced in the use of it. The more tricks you get the better. Also try to use the tool in your whole stack rather than only in some of the components you have deployed. This way you will benefit from the use of the correlation.
Also finding some videos can be useful to get to know if the tool can help you in the process of improving your product or platform.
I personally have not looked for digital courses in edx, coursera or udemy, having tthat might be quite helpful as well.

Gives great insight but requires cultural shift to use it proactively
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to install. Gives visibility of your whole platform and how it interacts together. Discovers issues you didn’t know existed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Difficult to get to the bottom of an issue as there are so many layers to drill into.

Awareness of issues before and after they occur so we can be proactive as well as reactive.

We are getting more proactive than reactive on incidents management, and we are getting down business service impacts. Its translaated on a customer satisfaction

The dashboard is very user friendly and you can see many things at the same place

The thread traceability is low and you need to download the thread dump to other products.
