More Symbols for EER diagrams are needed! I faced some issues rest was all good.

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing I liked was the real-time collaboration while working on the Diagram. I used Lucidchart to create a Company's EER diagram for my Database class along with my teammate. The project was very bulky and kind of tough to work on. Lucid helped us tremendously by seamlessly integrating both users work and allowing a real-time collaboration which really helped speed up the project. I tried three different software for the same project, and I found Lucid to be the most useful because of this one standing-out seamless functionality.
What do you dislike about the product?
My project involved creating a EER diagram which required access to a lot of symbols, and visuals used in that particular space. I didn't find those symbols or signs in Lucid and so I had to manually create them again and again which was a bit time-consuming. There should exist a feature that allows to draw double lines with a small margin between the two. Also, I liked how it had the feature to make the lined dotted, solid, etc. However, EER diagram involves worked with entity boxes which sometimes need to double line crossed, I didn't find a double-lined rectangular box in Lucid for this purpose. Also, I couldn't get a double line triangular box which is used to represent a identifying relationship in an EER diagram.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping us create the Database org chart in a relatively short amount of time which is very helpful and cost-cutting as compared to other available options.

What do you like best about the product?
I really liked the variety of features that are available including ER Diagrams, Mind map apart from regular diagram tool. I also liked the feature to create diagrams using mermaid code which is helpful after generating it from LLMs.
What do you dislike about the product?
The built in AI tools to create the diagrams could be improved. The UI is not that appealing to me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is great collaboration tools where I can create visually appealing tool and can be shared across team.

Putting together enablement and process documentation goes quick

  • March 10, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Building a lot of enablement and process documents for internal and external stakeholders is a large part of my role. I am regularly using LucidCharts to simplify explanation of processes.
What do you dislike about the product?
The collaboration aspect is a little wonky and times and could be refined, not sure how much of this could be chalked up to me and user error but.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Simplifying processes from mountains of text documents and text hierarchies into easily understood processes grasped in seconds, not minutes

Lucid Visual as a Student

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I liked it for using it in my project development and software programming classes. It was neat, clean and looks professional.
What do you dislike about the product?
It was really difficult to use as a beginner. It would have helped if there was a 10-15 minute video on how to teach people who have not used these types of softwares before.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was creating ERD diagrams for projects as a student in a MBA / MIS program.

User friendly and just a click away

What do you like best about the product?
Lucid is so easy to use. No implementation, install, hidden features. Very easy to implement and have it available for users. It's great to have a browser based solution that is actually better than heavy installed software like the competition.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not a fan of using the mouse too much. I believe it would be better having more keyboard shortcuts so you don't rely as much on your mouse for everything.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to simply access it and get work done is definitely the main benefit. No need for training, learning, figuring things out. It's just all there.

Great Aesthetically and Productively

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Have been using Lucid for a little over a year now and love using it for any kind of diagram or visual I need to produce for either work or for personal use. As stated in the title, I am in LOVE with the visual look of the tools and the website in general, and using the tool simply feels great. I cannot stress how much I appreciate the visual appeal compared to alternative tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
If there was a tour feature or a more straightforward method for learning all the little tricks and settings that almost always improve my workflow, this tool would be more clear for a lack of a better word. It's hard to get into the rhythm of using Lucid but once you do, it's really enjoyable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Finding a great collaborative charting tool that makes things simple and fluid for me and my team make it the undeniable choice for me.

Intuitive UX - Org Chart Templates Lacking

  • March 10, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the intuitive nature between elements. I used Lucid to generate my company's complex org chart, and I liked that once linked via lines, I could move boxes freely without the lines breaking. I liked that I could organize my document into different tabs and I liked the overall clean and professional aesthetic of the diagram. I also liked that there was a number of export options, however I encountered some problems with that.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest thing for me was that the org chart templates did not fulfill the complex needs of my organization. The variance in hierarchies and the breadth of employees meant that the standard org chart came out looking not right. I had to manually build the org chart out block-by-block, but would have much preferred to use the org chart templates that allowed you to collapse and expand sections and were easily updated by HR, if necessary.

When exporting my diagram as SVG, the plan was to import into a Canva presentation deck. The SVG didn't export correctly and I had to open the document in Adobe Illustrator, fix the fill of some elements (even though on Lucid it all looked fine), and re-upload to Canva. Perhaps some kind of preflight or Canva integration would work well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problem was our org charts were outdated, ugly, didn't fully present the true hierarchies of our organization. Essentially, they weren't professional. In addition, they were static. We needed something that solved all of that, plus was able to be digital so we could embed into a private page on our website that could be sent to stakeholders to ease through navigation.

Good tool to manage diagrams

  • March 10, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I had different kind of graphs to design and the tool was great because it is so easy to use and offers a wide variety of boxes and charts.
What do you dislike about the product?
The free version is too limiting and sometimes it is difficult to move objects if there are arrows linked to them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am creating org-charts and it was so time consuming with powerpoint, especially when you remove or add roles and you have to align everything every time, Lucid solves all these issues.
