Game-Changer for Remote IT Management and Device Security

  • October 25, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As an IT Systems Administrator, having a centralized cloud directory platform like JumpCloud has been a game-changer. It provides all the tools I need to manage our devices effectively, especially with the added convenience of features like Remote Assist, which allows me to support our internal clients seamlessly—even in a remote work setting.

The policy management capabilities in JumpCloud make device management easier and more consistent, helping us enforce security policies efficiently. And the new macOS login feature is a huge bonus—it’s simplified our access process, making it easy for team members to log in with their JumpCloud accounts, which has been incredibly convenient.
What do you dislike about the product?
We’re still hoping for a fully centralized software management feature, where we could assign software directly from device group options without needing to open each software tool individually to assign device groups.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud addresses several critical challenges in our IT environment, especially by centralizing identity, device, and policy management. This consolidation allows us to streamline access control, making it much easier to manage user identities and secure devices across a remote workforce.

Great Active Directory Alternative

  • October 25, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Overall I have had a really great experience with JumpCloud. The setup is very easy and straight forward. There have been new features added recently that have also been a welcome addition.
I have not had issues with stability and have never had to troubleshoot issues with logins.
What do you dislike about the product?
There have been issues with Remote Desktop connections and Android MDM policies. As of writing this, I have outstanding issues but unfortunatly customer support has not been helpful in resolving them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud is much easier to setup and use than Active Directory.

Lot of moving parts, but does everything you need

  • October 25, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Supports lots of policies to manage remote workers' machines. Self-serve setup flow for employees, although MDM profile installation can be error-prone.
What do you dislike about the product?
Installing software for your employees with Apple Business Manager is a pain but you can work around it (you have to install the apps on a custom user group and link that up in JumpCloud).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing remote employees' machines and enforcing various policies to constrain what Macs can do

A one-stop shop with plenty of potential

  • October 25, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have been utilizing JumpCloud for several years across different organizations, primarily for identity management and federated auth (SSO). The cloud LDAP and RADIUS features are probably my favorite part of the product: I find the core functionality to be executed very well. Setting it up is relatively straightforward, with no significant hiccups during initial implementation. I appreciate how JumpCloud acts as a one-stop shop for directories and users. Remote Assist stands out as a reliable alternative to previous solutions like TeamViewer, and has been a pretty big value add since it was released.
What do you dislike about the product?
I found the documentation for Mobile Device Management (MDM) with iOS somewhat lacking, especially during transitions between versions such as iOS 17 to iOS 18... though it seems to have since improved. I found that the SaaS management feature, while useful, still needs enhancement to better match the versatility offered by other vendors. I also found the password manager lacking in comparison to established alternatives like Bitwarden and Dashlane, particularly in terms of UI/UX.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The primary problem we solve with it is identity and directory management. It reduces overhead with cloud-based user management, eliminating the need for on-premise solutions. It also offers SSO via SAML and OIDC, and, via cloud LDAP, allows us to offer robust, secure auth on systems that would otherwise be reliant on UNAP. We also use JumpCloud as an MDM provider on iOS, Android, and macOS devices.

Great platform and responsive support

  • October 25, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We've found the best thing about JumpCloud is the ease of use and implementation provided by the configurable user, policy, and device groups. It makes managing large groups of users in different departments and different device platforms very manageable, both in terms of seeing an overview of everything and in terms of only viewing details of a given subset.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main downside is the lack of clarity around risks and caveats of certain features. There is plenty of documentation, but we've found that when looking for information on a particular feature, different help articles will contain different info. This has made some integrations significantly more difficult, though customer support was always responsive and helpful in these scenarios.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud is allowing us to consolidate the administration of our clients' devices, and hardening access to the various services they use. It's also enabling us to deliver much faster support via the system information provided in the JumpCloud portal, and the remote commands we're able to run.

Jumpcloud is a must have a cloud-based directory platform

  • October 25, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The Jumpcloud UI is very user-friendly. Adding users, user groups, and SSO applications is easy. Jumpcloud has a wide range of integrated applications, making adding applications super easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are many great out-of-the-box security policies for MDM devices. However, I wish some of these would allow for a bit more customization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jumpcloud helps us with secure identity management, provisioning access to Cloud applications securely via user groups, and enforcing MFA.

Easy to register and easy to use of identity management features in single platform along with the MFA features
What do you dislike about the product?
Limited customization options
Dependence on Internet Connectivity
no option for onpremise
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
builtin features, Centralized Identity Management, Traditional directory services require significant IT overhead. JumpCloud is cloud-native which allow us to work from different locations

Jumpcloud is a robust cloud-based directory platform.

  • October 25, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy the seamless SSO integration as well as the ability to run wireless commands and support systems without having to impact end users. We use it everyday in place of a traditional Active Directory. Easy to implement quick fixes. Customer support is very responsive.
What do you dislike about the product?
I come from a Microsoft background, so missing traditional AD is the only downside I found. Maybe a group policy feature?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud solves for an enterprise environment that doesn't leverage traditional Active Directory. It is easy to manage and has a lot of flexibility in what services it can provide. Our environment is almost exclusively in the cloud and this was a big part in making that happen.
