Very Easy to Use
What do you like best about the product?
I love how simple it is to get going with it. Even though I did not have extensive experience with another Directory Service, I was quickly up and running with JumpCloud. I could roll it out in phases, across multiple platforms with ease, and it has a lot of flexibility with authentication methods to fit other systems easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
It relies a bit more on PowerShell than I would like. I love GUI interfaces, and would prefer to avoid the API entirely.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm effortlessly able to connect our Student Information System, Google Workspace, WiFi authentication, and workstation authentication to a single system even though they rely on different authentication protocols. We're also able to apply security policies remotely across multiple platforms from just one console.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking for a cross-platform Directory Service that requires little-to-no management time, seriously consider JumpCloud! Right now I am the only IT guy at a boarding school with about 180 staff and 270 students, and JumpCloud has been a huge help in making my job doable.
Amazing platform so far
What do you like best about the product?
I've worked in technology and mobile device management for a couple of decades and I haven't seem a management platform as diverse and complete as Jumlcloud. I'm rolling it out now.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lacks any kind of built in HR on boarding and outdated scripting in commands gallery
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
If you don't have a directory this is the one you need
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend this platform to any admins who need to control a disconnected group of systems and users
Love working with Jumpcloud, Loving the new features released
What do you like best about the product?
I love JumpCloud is working on innovating and releasing new products like MDM and software deployment tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
Waiting for the touchless deployment of macs to be supported through the jumpcloud mdm tool and not needing to use a 3rd party.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using jumplcoud to provide a SSO experience for all of our users. This has helped to streamline our onboarding and off boarding processes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This has been one of the simplest implementations we have used and has saved us a ton of time.
Innovative & Powerful
What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud enables us to manage our directory and fleet efficiently without the hassle of using legacy on-premise provisioning platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
The built-in policies are great, but it would nice to have more options for endpoint management to meet compliance requirements.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We leverage JumpCloud to manage our directory services in the cloud and manage endpoints.
JumpCloud works for us
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to assign rights to individual users.
What do you dislike about the product?
Interface was a little confusing at first.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are creating secure environments for users when working with particular clients.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want to secure your workstation environment, JumpCloud is your best choice. It works well with Mac -based environments.
Easy set up, roll out and continuing adding features
What do you like best about the product?
It is very easy to come in to the product with little managed directory experience and quickly set up apps, SSO, RAIDUS and end point account management.
What do you dislike about the product?
Their pricing and tiers of service has greatly expanded as their roadmap has grown. This may or may not align with the services you actually need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use JumpCloud for all of our identity management, where available. From application SSO, to Google and Microsoft sync, to RAIDUS for VPN, LDAP for servers and JumpCloud agent on end points to manage local identity on computers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a cloud directory and identity management, JumpCloud should be on your short list of services to consider.
JumpCloud is a great Microsoft Alternative
What do you like best about the product?
Pre-packaged policies, that you can use to manage the environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it would auto login without logging into the portal, maybe via an agent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing non Active Directory environments.
One stop shop for secure onboarding of assets and applications across organization.
What do you like best about the product?
System Insights and Remote setup of employee systems. Readily available community over slack which is helpful and available round the clock. Pre-defined SSO integrations for a variety of organization applications.
What do you dislike about the product?
Integrations with the custom applications are not that smooth and as obvious depends a lot on the third party vendor on what kind of subscription would be required.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Remote System onboarding, Overall organization security compliance.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are considering an SSO feature from JC, that works flawlessly. Do consider the investment that needs to be done on the third-party subscription level. That was a shocker for us. Also, the compatibility with Linux machines is limited as compared to Mac/Windows which is understood but something which you should consider before jumping into the decisions. The system information or insights that are available are good to start with but there is a different paid service that can be added as an add-on which provides more details.
Jumpcloud brings Active Directory to macOS
What do you like best about the product?
The most important feature for us is the ability to connect Microsoft Active Directory accounts to macOS. Its easy and intuitive to administrate and it offers much more!
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing so far! Its getting better with every update!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had the problem, adding several macOS clients to AD. Jumpcloud makes this possible.
AD as SaaS - No need for a tedious local AD server
What do you like best about the product?
It is great to have everything online (it even works offline) and since it is a SaaS solution they continuously try to improve and add to the functionality. Also, you don't need to worry about updates, this is done automatically and it is easy to get started with the solution and you have a great overview of your systems(laptops etc) and users. Also works for a multi-OS environment (Windows, Mac and Linux)
They have support for lots of SSO connections and integrations with both GSuite and Office365, so you can even create users in Jumcloud which gets replicated into these environments. And you can easily add MFA to have the users being even more secure.
JumpCloud also has a great support team which is super friendly and helpful in solving any potential issue.

What do you dislike about the product?
The focus lately has been on enterprise functionality which is not relevant for us (we are a smaller company) and we have encountered lockout of users when you change the password on a laptop but the mobile has the old password.
