Smartsheet Experience
What do you like best about the product?
The tool is simliar to excel but much more powerful with built in formulas. The report functionality is often used in our organization for retrieving data from one sheet to another seamlessly. Our organization uses smartsheet mainly for project management tracking and so far the templates offered and ease of use has been making a huge difference for us.
What do you dislike about the product?
The access control on who can view which sheets/workspace has been a bit confusing to manage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management, resource management
Good solution for PM for pre-determined projects
What do you like best about the product?
I like how I can have emails automatically sent to users based on just about any criteria. I like how I can imbed work under an overarching project without extra formulas. I like that it's live and I can share access without every user needing a license.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't found a way for the tool to do all of the things I want it to do without formulas. The drawback then becomes formulas needing to be manually entered and updated as I embed more rows as the work changes. It's more manual work than I thought I signed up for and isn't as flexible. The formulas also seem much more complicated than Excel formulas though they are very similar at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before Smartsheet we didn't have the team's work documented in one single spot - each consultant managed their own work and had their own way of tracking it. With Smartsheet we are able to increase visiblity of our projects and show progress (or lack there of) much more easily. The tool also allows us to hold people more accountable to tasks they said they are to accomplish within their scope of work.
Using Smartsheet instead of MS Project
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is easy to use, and most of the buttons are intuitive. It is easy to read and manipulate.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Gant chart functionality is not as good as MS Project. It will work in a pinch, but you cannot set dependencies, and any manipulation of durations is manual.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is allowing me create schedules when MS Project is unavailable to me.
I was able to get a better understand of how smarsheet works with many functions to support my work
What do you like best about the product?
What really helped me was learning about the automations that can help me get the right information from people.
What do you dislike about the product?
In one session I was in all they did was have companies talk about how they used smartsheets to get to where they are. It wasn't really helpful because I want to learn and I didn't really get nothing out of that session.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are big department within our school district we use smartsheet to track all the calls we get because we want to make sure we are getting back to our families when they call us for support. As well as we use to assign project to office staff.
A flexible tool that now underpins all our business processes
What do you like best about the product?
Customisable and flexible. No end to processes that we can create to solve business problems and replace out of date processes
What do you dislike about the product?
Some limitations around sharing and viewing data. (reports, dynamic view etc)

Collaborative tool, allows execs to see snapshot of all business metrics.

Easy to use, easy to share
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet allows you to utilize a more easily to function sheet system. It presents nicely where excel/sheets might fall short and can demonstrate an ease for integrations and use.

I don't use the enhanced version so only utlize the basic areas

Smartsheets allows a group of people to easily view, update, and work towards a project managed through Smartsheets. Great visibility and ease of use

Not easy to pull information from Power Bi
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing interactions with multiple teams and making them all aware of the deadlines and goals
Illuminating the Critical Path
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is extremely user-friendly and makes it so that employees at any level can thoroughly understand and track the tasks, dependencies and critical path for any given projecy. It also means that folks who are not as close to certain projects can easily assess the current state of the project and the upcoming milestones.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet is still missing a number of capabilities that would make it more similar to Google Sheets. If it had these features, it could be a singular solution rather than splitting documents between Smartsheet and Google in order to have better formatting and collaboration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps to solve the issue of anticipating milestones that are dependent on a variety of other tasks. Smartsheet also makes it easy to edit the anticipated duration of a tasks and see the impacts of that change.
Smartsheet Review - The Good and The Bad - A Honest Review
What do you like best about the product?
I like Smartsheet, I use it all the time to organize payments for gift cards, tracking users for market research, and website tasks, and the way it lays out information that is easy to learn. It also integrates well into other websites and systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the user expereince is not that good, meaning it looks a little clunky and looks and feel more rigid as compared to something like airtable that is soft and rounded. Smartsheet seems like Microsoft teams where Airtable seems like Slack if that makes sense.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organizing and streamlining the website update process, the marketing incentive lists, marketing process management, and other organziational tasks similar to Excel.
