Excel Automated Alternative
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use with a familiar interface and intuitive for users that work with the basic excel. Flexibility and customization allowing users to tailor dashboards and reports. Creation of templates and workflows. Collaboration features users can work at th same time, attach files and reminders. Project management capabilities, Gantt Charts, task dependici,resource management. Automation featurestha help on repetitive tasks. Ease to implement for new users. Good customer support.
What do you dislike about the product?
No offline acess in case of downtime. Cost - is expensive for a large number of users.We noticied a performance decrease in large and complex sheets. the mobile app dont have all features as the desktop version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To be centralized platform we can have several users across countries colaborating in the same project in real time. The automation helps all users to be more productive and the workflows trigering notifications help the users to keep things on track. This saves time to our users.
Great Project/Program Management Tool with Some Limitations
What do you like best about the product?
As a cloud based platform it really helps drive collaboration between team members. Having project timelines, meeting minutes, and RAID logs accessible to all team members whenever has been helpful increasing collobaration between all team members. It beats having these documents on a team member's personal computer, which can lead to delays accessing the documents and even greater problems if a team member is on vacation or leaves the company.
I also love the ability to build out dashboards which has aided with program management. Being able to creat metrics tied to all the projects a business unit or product divison has, has been really helped my organization visualize the projects that are currently active. It has led to greater vissibility for upper management while also allowing team members to easily identify their projects.

What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the sheet functionalities are lacking when compared to some of the other software we use, especially Microsoft Excel. I contantly have team members requesting to filter multiple aspects of a sheet, which can be challenging with Smartsheet.
Also the need for an admin license to utilize the full capabilities of smartsheet is also challeging. Not everyone in my organization has one, so they often have to reach out to other team members to add columns or filter certain things.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem Smartsheet is solving is that tied to team member collaboration. With Smartsheet being web based it allows all team members 24/7 access to project documents, like meeting minutes and timelines, and allows theem to update them in real time. This allows for projects to be up to date whenever new information comes in, as the team member with that information can simply update Smartsheet. In the past, this update process was very slow with teams having to contact the project manager with any updates, which could only be made by the projcet manager or whoever owned the documents.
The dashboard building fuction has also solved issues with upper management visibility of projects. By building out dashboards with metrics, you can easily capture all projects a certain product division is involved in and display them visually. This has allowd for upper management to easily see what is happening in their product divisions.

Overall positive experience with Smartsheet
What do you like best about the product?
The dashboards are a great feature that gives Smartsheet an edge compared to other apps. It is an easier process to create a dashboard through Smartsheet than it is with Excel. In addition, there is a great amount of templates to choose from for any kind of project.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the interface feels a bit clunky and I'm unsure of how to automate Smartsheet functions.

Smartsheet has helped with project management across multiple teams. In addition, it has helped with data visualization/presentation.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about Smartsheet is its powerful blend of flexibility and collaboration. Smartsheet combines the familiar layout of a spreadsheet with advanced project management features, allowing users to create, track, and manage tasks, projects, and workflows all in one place.

One downside of Smartsheet is that its extensive features can sometimes be overwhelming, especially for new users. The learning curve can be steep, and it may take time to fully understand and utilize its capabilities.

I like that files can be linked as well as other sheets/documents.

I find that it's difficult to personalize.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to have live updated documents and the integration we use for Brandfolder. We can seamlessly track projects, products and more with Smartsheet and even share with our external partners with the live updates without having to resend emails over and over again.
What do you dislike about the product?
In our office, the platform takes several refreshes to load. It never loads on the first instance. This is super frustrating. Also- I found the creator of the smartsheet column to be extremely helpful and it was taken away as a feature a bit ago. It was easy to be able to locate sheets off of who in my organization made it, and made it a lot faster to find what I was looking for. We use A LOT of smartsheets and any way to organize or find things faster in the long list of sheets is helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's solving the need to not have to send multiple emails around with updated spreadsheets, and allows members of the organization to easily find what they are looking for. We have a lot of need for cross-department communication on upcoming products and projects and smartsheet makes it easy to keep all of that organized and communicated effectively. We also use it for faster internal approvals for things like marketing copy.
