Great for quick stuff, not as advanced as excel

What do you like best about the product?
It's a standard, shareable spreadsheet system that is user friendly and has great features. I really like the cell history feature so if a cell is changed accidentally, you can restore the information that was previously there. I also like the ease of sharing with co-workers and ability to limit settings for those you don't want manipulating the data.
The ability to create forms for your data sheets is very helpful if you have employees who need to input, but aren't as computer saavy and reports are simple to create and manage.

What do you dislike about the product?
I'm endlessly frustrated by the frequency of changes to the interface. One example is the search feature. It used to be at the top of the screen so utilizing it was one step. It's been moved to the task bar now and takes an additional step. I use this a great deal and it now takes time away from other tasks. On that note, when you do commence a search, the found object isn't always highlighted on the first try so it's necessary to do over.
I'm also not a fan of the home page and how often it changes.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smarsheets helps me keep all of my fleet information organized in one convenient place. I'm able to set up task alerts for maintenance and inspections while having the ability to attach important documents directly to the specific unit. I can easily filter and send information right in the program so it gets to those who can get those jobs done.
I also use it to keep track of repair invoices and other fleet related documents and information which greatly helps with Federal and State compliance.
That said, I don't think any of the recent changes have improved my user experience thus far.

Lack some key features, keep the future but make it more user-friendly smiler to excel

Smartsheet is able to have a whole end to end online form to grid to dashboard which has been very useful in streamline some of our workflows.

Good for callaborative projects, and tracking project statuses and updates.
What do you dislike about the product?
Quite limited in how the data can be defined and the graphs/charts that can be generated. No burndown chart for example. Once there's more than 2 variables being tracked in an effort on charts, its uses go down dramatically .
More chart and data options. As of now I find using excel or tabelau to be more useful and less limitng most of the time.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's good as a single area for a team to track a project and for updates. Hwoever, it is another whoel program that needs to be used jsut for that reason. It would be good to inscrease some of the data capabilites so that meaningful results can be seen on the dashboards.

Ability to track WIP, project manage, track project duration, and create automations
What do you dislike about the product?
Limitation for reporting and dashboard functionality - a lot of fields cannot be reported on. Ie cannot change pivot table source/duplicate a report with all source files, cannot capture values in reporting if the column has multi-select, etc. I often have to use Power BI as an alternative.

- Printing to PDF is quite tricky.

Smartsheet helps us manage projects efficiently by providing a centralized platform for all project-related activities. It allows us to create beautiful Gantt charts for our customers, which visually represent project timelines and milestones. Additionally, Smartsheet helps us keep track of project progress, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and within scope. This comprehensive project management capability significantly enhances our productivity and collaboration.
Overall good experience with a few flaws

Smartsheet offers great flexibility to manage personal and project timelines, which is primarily how we use it. It is easy for everyone to access and very intuitive to use - it takes very little time to learn the basics. It comes with pre-populated templates for specific marketing tasks that have helped speed up development of planning documents for projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few very annoying flaws: 1-even if you are set for automatic updates, it still warns you when you have not hit save, 2-you cannot copy subitems without expanding every section, and 3-whenever you invite someone to view a sheet, it automatically asks that person if they want to become a licensed user. there is no way to turn this off, and everyone selects it, which then requires I go back and explain they only need to create an account to see a shared sheet, they do not need a license [which is an incremental cost].

A Solid Choice for Managing Projects
What do you like best about the product?
I've been using this tool for project management, and while it has many strengths, there are a few drawbacks. On the positive side, it's incredibly easy to use, with an intuitive interface that makes navigating through various features a breeze. I particularly appreciate the real-time collaboration feature through the Share function, which reduces workload and makes projects more enjoyable.
What do you dislike about the product?
However, one downside is that it can take too long to load at times, which can be frustrating when you're trying to work quickly. Despite this issue, it's still a solid choice for managing projects, but I hope the loading speed can be improved in future updates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Not all colloberation tools are the same. This one is just better and just easier to use for most users. Smartsheet solves the colloberation problem for us. The real-time collaboration through the Share function helps my team work together more efficiently, cutting down on time and effort. It’s made managing projects smoother and even a bit more enjoyable.
