Smartsheet for Market Research
What do you like best about the product?
Top features I enjoy:
- The ability to create multiple forms for a single sheet. This enables my team to input things directly into a sheet OR via the form OR send an email to external parties with a different form that ties into the same sheet.
- The ability to move columns and reshape a sheet even after there are entries, without messing up previous contributions.
- The mobile app is helpful for viewing some things, though not so much for content generation.
- The ability to have custom actions upon completion of a form. We need to rely on some external parties for compliance related issues and being directed to their sites following form completion helps tasks not get skipped.

What do you dislike about the product?
Top dislikes:
- I find the data visualizations more complicated than they should be.
- Related to this: the jargon that's used in setting some data visualizations up is needlessly complicated.
- I also find the support - though robust - difficult to navigate. There are 40 minute videos but not shorter answers to what I consider basic questions.
- The pricing tiers are too binary. I'm a small organization with just one other user. We use the product frequently but will never be a power user. We'd happily pay more than our $28/month but we're not even close to being an enterprise user.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SmartSheet allows me to take responses from market surveys and compile them all in one place, with plenty of options for sorting in needed directions. Forms generate an interface that I can forward to multiple parties internally and externally and capture needed information.

Compared to the other online-based software we use, it's not a leader in user experience + reports and filtering can sometimes be confusing.

We use Smartsheet for our SOPs and lodging leave. It's easy to share forms and file documents.

Smartsheet for project management
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to access from multiple different devices. Once you put everything in order it is easy to create reports which are always up to date.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some functions are limited compared to Excel. For example, you cannot freeze nor hide rows, cannot change format type for cells in same column...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project managers can easily organize and share necessary information with their teams
Not intuitive - returned to Excel
What do you like best about the product?
Having a hub for various elements of a large project
What do you dislike about the product?
Not intuitive. The learning curve was too steep for me even after watching youtube videos.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
None. I stopped using it
A more comprehensive, integrated, and collaborative version of excel
What do you like best about the product?
I love that it can be easily shared with team members and that there can be many collaborators. I also find it helpful that you can create forms where data is then inputted into the form. I also like that there is a dashboard that can visualize the data easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I find the UX experience a bit complicated - particularly when you are using forms. "Automations, forms and Connections" do not feel intuitive to me. I know how to use the basic excel-like function, but the secondary functions are confusing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Logigng, tracking, and monitoring projects and contacts with the option to share the data with teammates. Additionally, I like that you can add comments and attachments. It is very helpful to be able to hyperlink to other materials.
Smartsheet for Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has good dashboard features. Using the dashboard helps to provide portfolio level updates in a summarized fashion.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing in particular. Maybe a bit more user friendliness can help attract more users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our team uses Smartsheet for project and portfolio management. With many teams and projects being managed smartsheet is useful to consolidate all project reports, status, issues and risks - all in one place.
Smartsheets can centralize information about multiple projects
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it keeps things like project scopes, timelines and other docs in one location. The dashboard view helps management get an idea of how many projects we're working on, and how many are on schedule vs not. My team also likes that you don't have to log in multiple times per day like we do with certain other systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
Prior to using Smartsheets, we kept track of projects in Google Sheets and/or Docs, so my team and I are accustomed to the functionality it provides. My team provided me with this feedback:
1. Comments can only be added to a row, not to specific cell, so additional explanation is required in each comment.
2. Every time it auto-refreshes, you lose your spot in the sheet, because it kicks you back to the upper left corner of the sheet.
3. We have to remember to 'favorite' the sheets we work in, otherwise they are hard to find again.
4. LOTS of email notifications are sent, and sometimes you don't know if it's a notification of a change YOU made or one made by someone else.
5. When we're tagged in a comment, we have a hard time finding it on the smartsheet. The line number is on the email, but the link in the email should just take you there. Sometimes it does take you there automatically, and sometimes it doesn't. Seems like it works better if you already have the application open on one tab before clicking into the link. It's confusing.
6. If you are tagged in a comment in a certain row, but another row was added, the line reference becomes obsolete and you have to figure it out on your own.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The timeline is visible to all of us, and we can see the status of different stages of the project. We are still learning how best to use it's functionality to solve problems and make us work more efficiently.
