Takes time to get used to it but it’s very useful once you do
What do you like best about the product?
I love the automations and workflows at the smartsheet level, it makes it easy to collect and validate data, create reports and extract specific data within or outside Smarsheet. Thanks to those, it has become one of my main tools for collaboration within the team and partners.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find that it takes time to fully take advantage of the smart sheets, specially at the Dashboards level, it is taking more time to learn how to set up the dashboard properly.
I also dislike that you cannot share Folders, only Workspaces and Sheets. As a Program Manager, I manage multiple partners within the same Program. The Workspace is dedicated to the program, however one partner could have a dedicated folder within my workspace. I'd love to have the possibility to share folders only.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I currently use Smartsheets to collect requests for partners, validate them and track them. I also use the smartsheets to obtain metrics of how my projects are going and compile a report for my stakeholders.

when login need to do the MFA, and there seems no tagging support

I am a users to be use and contribute on the project. So collaboration is good.

What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility and opportunities to create so many new projects and diversify. All while automating for ease of implementation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the tool is so stiff in its process when making projects, you have to navigate around different ways to create what you want.

Better than Excel for collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
By far the best attribute for Smartsheet is the ability to seamlessly collaborate with multiple users.
What do you dislike about the product?
As with most web-based solutions, you cannot customize the toolbar with shortcuts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps us manage projects and event calendars across departments. This is especially important with a dispersed workforce.

The ability to track projects easily. I could also easily copy and paste from excel to smartsheet and vice versa

Not easy to link to Jira which is the main tool my dev teams use.
Also report generation wasn't smooth. Seemed hard to set up.

Project tracking
You need to spend a lot of time learning to use Smartsheet to make the most of it
What do you like best about the product?
I like that people who have used Excel will have a good starting point for using Smartsheet, which requires less user training. I like the Gantting function and the ability to create folders and subfolders in workspaces.
What do you dislike about the product?
The conditional formatting wastes a lot of time. I keep having to create the same conditional formatting for all my sheets to do simple things like assign a specific color to the date cell when it's in the past, present or future, or a color based on status etc. In Monday.com these were assigned automatically but I could still change them.
Smartsheets are time consuming to set up and easy to break, which makes using them risky.
The calendar function is not flexible enough and too cluttered. My users want to be able to see only the important things on the calendar or timeline, but having the parent timeline be a default creates clutter.
Generally speaking Smartsheet looks very dated. I can see some efforts are being made to update the look but it seems that progress is being quite slow.

Smartsheet is helping us coordinate activities between teams, Gantt out project timelines, set up automations so we don't forget to invoice clients on time, coordinate our onboarding, manage our inventory.
Smartsheet did exactly what I needed and made it easy to do.

Ease of use and customizable reports. Everything just makes sense.

I honestly don't have anything negative to say here. I only used it to track a series of projects and didnt fully explore its capability.

Tracking the status of key projects without me needing to go find manufacturing team members to get updates.

- I like how Smartsheet feels like a filing cabinet and helps organize various documents and projects

- I don't like how complicated it is to copy and save a page into another place. You have to "save as new" scroll through so many other options, and then find the folder you want the copy to go into.
- I also really dislike that you can't copy multiple things into other places. You have to copy one by one.

Administrative information collection via Smartsheets
What do you like best about the product?
The automated workflow capability of Smartsheet is a convenient feature, and the dynamic view offers an interesting method of looking at data. Having multiple forms connected to the same sheet is also useful when collecting information that, though different in specific aspects, ultimately provides data for that single database.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some missing features that could really add to the use of Smartsheet. Particularly, the lack of ability to format text in the form (as someone answering the form) can be frustrating and very limiting. A rich text editor option would make a world of difference.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The collection of information, be it for courses, seminars, or travel, in one location and with the ability to direct specifically to the relevant people has helped a lot.
Organization at it's finest!
What do you like best about the product?
It is a very intuitive and organized way to collect a large amount of information at once! It has been instrumental in our ability to partner, collaborate, and iterate on marketing plans throughout the year.
What do you dislike about the product?
It may not be the prettiest but not all things need to be pretty to be useful!

Smartsheet is solving the problem of siloed marketing and project plans that provide little opportunity for collaboration or sharing. It has been hugely beneficial in accelerating our collaboration across partnerhips.
