Useful for tracking small projects. For complex projects, it can be tricky due to some limitations.
What do you like best about the product?
That you can create a report based on your source data and you can add custom fields with functions to the source file.
What do you dislike about the product?
You are required to select a Jira project when creating a source sheet.
There are two main issues with this:
1. Lack of flexibility in project selection:
Sometimes I don't know in advance which Jira projects will be relevant to my work- often, multiple teams are involved in one project, and each team uses a different Jira project.
In EazyBI, for example, I can select the top-level hierarchy ticket and view all the linked tickets beneath them, regardless of which projects they belong to.
Note: I’m aware there’s an option to select all projects in Smartsheet, but this comes with limitations- both in the number of results returned and the fields available for selection- which makes it ineffective.
2. No option to update project selection post-setup:
Once the Jira projects are selected during the setup, there's no way to modify them. So if I forget to include a project, I need to create an entirely new source file just to add it- which is inefficient.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has provided a good colaboration space, and a a way to complete surveys/ forms and consolidate results more effectively than other tools I have used in the past
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the tool had better import/ export capabilities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's providing a better space to consolidate lists of initiatives, especcially as new project come in. It also provides a better space to update statu, and attach relevant files as the project progresses. This is as compared to excel.

I like all the different options you have to format and organize your tasks.

It is a little challenging getting started with it.

Smartsheet helps track progress for different programs, and I like the graphs. The Dashboards help integrate everything and simplify the process for larger groups.

The limited features and difficulty in creating some tracking sheets and automations.

It is helping us have all of our work in one space. We are benefiting from this because it is easier to locate documents and information in case of employee turnover.
Smartsheet is a great tool but takes time to learn.

I like that Smartsheet is a live document. I like that it allows multiple users to update and comment back and forth to each other.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that if you do not save, you might lose your updates. Someone else could save over your updates.

Smartsheet allows our groups to share a live document and add updates as needed. We use smartsheets for billing, tracking, and setup documents.
Powerful project management tool with some limitations
What do you like best about the product?
The biggest advantage of Smartsheet, when sheets are properly structured, is its intuitiveness and ease of use for less tech-savvy employees. Reports work brilliantly – it’s just a pity that users need access to the source sheet in order to view or edit data within a report. The ability to build complex sheets with formulas, checkboxes, dropdowns, and cross-sheet references proves extremely effective for project and financial management. Automation features, along with reminders and alerts, are also very useful. I also appreciate the integration with Power Automate, which enables the creation of advanced workflows. Additionally, the option to create dynamic dashboards greatly simplifies information management.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main drawback is that many advanced features – such as Dynamic View or WorkApps – require additional licensing, which can be a barrier for smaller teams like us. It’s frustrating that there are no intuitive solutions for certain actions, such as “copy row” or “move row” functionality for specific columns instead of the entire sheet. There’s also a lack of more granular access/editing/visibility control levels for individual users (partially addressed by Dynamic Views). With larger sheets, performance issues become significant. On a smaller note – the limited 40-color palette is quite annoying, especially the lack of RGB-based custom color selection 😉
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps us centralize and structure project data in a way that’s clear and accessible for both technical and non-technical team members. By using formulas, cross-sheet references, checkboxes, dropdowns, and automations, we’ve replaced dozens of manual spreadsheets, email threads, and scattered tools with a single, scalable workspace. The ability to automate notifications and status updates reduces human error and saves a great deal of time. Even less tech-savvy employees can quickly adapt to the system, which improves overall collaboration and data consistency across departments.

I like that changes can be seen by all parties and it tells you where each campaign is at every step of the way.

I do not like that I cannot zoom out. It's a bit difficult to navigate at times.

Works well, but a little expensive
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet works really well for us and it houses some important data showing liability with the ability to check the cell history.
What do you dislike about the product?
We had some issues getting our implementation completed fully at the start, but it's working well now. Otherwise, it's a little expensive, and has a bit of a lag. With Google Sheet, you can watch people edit in real time, but with SmartSheet, you have to make sure to save regularly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Storing our data and showing who has made edits. It also works well to move rows to another sheet once you have completed the work.
