Average tool for Project management
What do you like best about the product?
I wanted to highlight some of the key features that truly differentiate Smartsheet from other platforms we've considered. Its robust reminder functionality is incredibly helpful for keeping projects on track and ensuring deadlines are met. Additionally, the intuitive dashboard layout provides a clear and customizable overview of project progress and key metrics, which I find very valuable.
Another significant advantage is the seamless interaction between different sheets, which simplifies data management and streamlines workflows. Furthermore, the granular permission settings, even for external collaborators, offer a high level of control and security when working with individuals outside our organization. These features combined make Smartsheet a powerful and flexible tool.

What do you dislike about the product?
Compared to Monday.com, the platform is less intuitive and not as user-friendly, especially for new or occasional users. Navigating the interface and understanding the structure can be challenging without prior training or guidance. When it comes to building complex sheets or detailed project plans that involve multiple steps, dependencies, or formulas, the process can become time-consuming and frustrating without support. Furthermore, one of the key limitations is the absence of a real-time, live-update feature. Changes made by other team members are not instantly visible unless the page is manually refreshed or saved, which can hinder collaboration and lead to confusion or duplicated efforts
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The platform is used to track various tasks and deliver real-time project status updates through its dashboard feature. It is also helping purchasing to track and navigate with all vendors and makes it easier to follow up.

What do you like best about the product?
I like how we can collaborate with team members on our sales processes. The customization of the sheets is very nice too.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes we have trouble getting access to a shared sheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In a business where our sales bag is so vast we can keep track of all of our opportunities so we make use of our hospital visits.
Worth It? My Review
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Smartsheet is that it offers various automation options and layout configurations that allow flexible display of project data. I also really like that you can easily create reports from your sheets. Overall, it's quite easy to use once you get familiar with the interface, though there can be a learning curve for advanced features. Setting it up was straightforward, but customizing it to fit our specific workflows took some time.Customer support has been responsive and helpful, though I haven't had to use it very often. I use Smartsheet daily for tracking project tasks, sharing updates, and reporting. I really appreciate the variety of automation options and customizable layouts that make it easy to display project data flexibly. It’s also great that you can turn sheets into detailed reports. However, it's worth noting that there’s no support for macros, and in some aspects it feels more limited than Excel. Both tools have their strengths and weaknesses. Integrating with other tools works well in general, but some integrations need manual setup or have limited options.
What do you dislike about the product?
One limitation is that you can't add macros, and in some ways it's more restricted than Excel. Of course, both tools have their pros and cons. Another challenge is managing user permissions to limit their ability to view or edit data in a way that protects the underlying database.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps us connect the work of multiple departments in one shared platform, making cross-team collaboration much easier. It allows us to track and monitor projects in real time, ensuring everyone stays updated on progress, tasks, and deadlines. The ability to set up automated alerts and notifications helps us avoid missed steps or delays by keeping everyone informed without needing constant emails or meetings. It also makes it easier to collect and organize data from different teams, which improves transparency and coordination across the entire project lifecycle.

What do you like best about the product?
In project management it's very useful to cover masterplan with warning (automated) and status progression
What do you dislike about the product?
Still not fully usable due to missing functionalities like multiple baseline to identify project delays, here we should have the possibility to add multiple baseline and track deltas vs original plan.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
clear visibility on project status of each task, automated reminders to task owners
Comprehensive and Complex - Worth it if you invest
What do you like best about the product?
When implemented well, Smartsheet is incredibly powerful. It combines Microsoft Excel with something like Jira to allow for project and task tracking, cascading timelines, automatic notifications, document signatures, and more. I'm convinced that someone who really wants to could run an entire business through Smartsheet. My boss set up a bunch of sheets that feed each other that we update weekly and the results are awesome!
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet is unlike anything else I've used, and that can be a good thing or a bad thing. In my case, the learning curve seems incredibly steep. When trying to alter some of the processes my boss set up, the system feels incredibly fragile. My biggest knock by far is there not seeming to be an entry-tier; it's all or nothing. I also know some of the extensions that would be very helpful for our team are prohibitively expensive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet makes project management much more streamline. We have a system of dependencies set up so that if we're waiting on client feedback or tasks are taking longer than expected, we can automatically notify the people that need to know. It seems a bit simple, but it takes a lot off our plates.
Overall I've found it to be a really great way to stay organized within projects.

I like the way that it's easy to add drop down and cross off and share pages.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've had a hard time connecting Smartsheet with Procore. I also don't like that I can't share a link to someone who doesnt have smartsheet.

I find it the most helpful for schedules.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is a great platform for multi-person project coordination, or collaborative projects across teams and organizations, offering a clear structure for managing deadlines, tasks, project plans, attachments, reminders, and automations. Its flexibility and integration options make it a powerful tool for streamlining complex workflows and giving visibility across the whole plan. Learn the date entry keyboard shortcuts, they are a great timesaver.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some plan limitations can be frustrating and limit user adoption for smaller teams with internal users, with recent plan changes biting hard. Formula support can be difficult to find or resolve for non-technical minds. Occasionally, when legacy features are removed, automations can get trapped in old code, leading to quite a protracted journey with customer support to rectify.

Smartsheet solves the problem of tracking vital, multi-step processes by allowing us to assign sequential numbers to each item and monitor their progress in a structured way. This ensures that nothing falls through the cracks, as tasks can be clearly checked off as they're completed, providing full visibility and accountability across the team.
