A versatile platform for work management
What do you like best about the product?
TLDR: I like its user-friendly interface, multiple views, collaboration features, templates and solutions, automation features, and dashboards and reports. I recommend it for anyone who needs a flexible and robust tool for complex work across teams and departments.
What I like:
- It has a user-friendly interface that lets you create and customize sheets, dashboards, reports, forms, and workflows with ease
-- It supports multiple views and you can also switch between views or create your own custom views
- It enables collaboration and communication among team members and stakeholders. You can share sheets, assign tasks, add comments, attach files, set alerts and reminders, and integrate with other tools like Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
TLDR: I dislike its high price, steep learning curve, and some bugs and limitations. It could improve by offering more affordable plans, better tutorials, and more updates and fixes.
- It can have a steep learning curve for some users who are not familiar with spreadsheet-based tools or project management concepts. Some features and functions may require advanced skills or training to use effectively.
- Better Tutorials would go along way. They must be quick and simple so that a 5 year old could follow.
- It can have some limitations or bugs in certain areas, such as formatting, formulas, integrations, mobile app, etc. Some users have reported issues with data accuracy, syncing, performance, or support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Managing complex projects and proceesses across multiple teams and departments with real-time visibility and collaboration.
- Streamlining work processes and increasing efficiency
efficient, well built, consistent, somewhat user friendly
What do you like best about the product?
The changes you can make to a sheet and that they show up in yellow. We have just bought the calendar app so we are about to see how that goes. I like that you can create lots of different sheets and section them out and have multiple options for creating dashboards and reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
it's not entirely user friendly and takes some getting used to in terms of knowing how to effectively use it. There are a few things I know I can do on smartsheet but the formulas and sums are still a bit of a mind field to work out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helping me keep data secure and online. Helping me be able to publish links for our clients to look at. Helping me show changes I have made for our clients. Making things a bit more automated for me.
Review of smartsheet
What do you like best about the product?
its collaborative, i can use it with colleagues anywhere. Its simple to use and similar to excel. Its great how we can view the information in chart view, list view and various filters can be set. I like that we can email from within the tool and add attachments to items.
What do you dislike about the product?
Initially it wasnt an intuitive tool for me... couldnt work out how to download/export the data and how to set filters. It would be good if every new user gets sent a 'how to' video link to get a quick tour
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we have a very restricted work network and Smartsheet allwows us to collaborate across countries for the purposes of having one plave to record and track Change requests and incidents
Smartsheet user review
What do you like best about the product?
I think is helpful and easy to work with
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the account creation and log in from mobile isnt that easy process
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management and project portfolio management with timelines
Difficult to learn from scratch
What do you like best about the product?
It maintains my systems on all appliances for very easy access
What do you dislike about the product?
It is difficult to learn as an older gent who did not learn anything similar. And the quizzes that throw in aspects of the system that they don't cover in the actual quizzes source materials and then don't tell you where you went wrong. This, then, doesn't allow you to focus further on these areas.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
None at this stage, as I don't know enough and rarely have the time to learn more. I can see that it will, however the requirement to roll it out further inhibits the use as the team have a system already and are not so easy to convince to look at a new format.
This platform is a lifesaver for collaboration and tracking
What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy using Smartsheet since it makes teamwork on projects simple. It integrates effectively with other apps like Google Workspace and Microsoft Teams. Everyone is kept informed by the sharing possibilities, and we can create workflows using templates that are adaptable to our needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that the Smartsheet mobile app lacks all of the functionality found in the web version. Some aspects are more difficult to utilise when I am not in front of my computer. Also, I wish there was a chat tool for communicating with my team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet facilitates collaboration and project management. It's easy to see how projects are progressing and to make good use of our resources. The technology may be tailored to our specific requirements, making us more organised and productive.
Easy Collaboration, customizable, but there is a bit of a learning curve
What is most valuable?
This solution provides easy collaboration and allows non-building users to use the system without requiring a license.
Only licensed users who can create sheets and collaborative spaces are charged for their usage.
What needs improvement?
The system can become more challenging to use in more complex scenarios, requiring additional add-ons that can be quite costly.
However, since we don't use those add-ons, this is not an issue for us.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working with Smartsheet for three years.
Since it's a software as a service, we are always working on the latest version of the platform.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I would rate the stability of Smartsheet a nine out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I would rate the scalability a seven out of ten.
Currently, we have around 15 to 20 users who have a valid license, but we plan to increase that number substantially. It's hard to determine the exact number of non-licensed users, but I would estimate it to be at least a few dozen, around 30 to 40 users.
How are customer service and support?
We did not have many occasions where we had to contact technical support.
How was the initial setup?
I was indeed involved in the initial setup, and let's say that for standard use, it's a very interesting tool. It's not that difficult.
But for more complex use cases, there is a higher learning curve.
What about the implementation team?
The application is hosted on the cloud, but I wouldn't describe it as completely public since users have their own private space. Access to the system requires a user account that is created by an administrator within our company.
The deployment process took one or two months to complete.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I believe a licensed user costs between 300 to 400 euros.
This solution does not have any additional costs beyond the standard licensing fees.
What other advice do I have?
It's important to do thorough research and analysis to determine if the application fits your needs, as with any software. While we are satisfied with its use cases in some areas, we might have needed to do more research to determine if it would also meet our needs in other areas.
I would rate Smartsheet a seven out of ten.
Really very good
What do you like best about the product?
The application is very easy to use & intuitive. Being SaaS is great advantage over having an installed application as there's a lot less administration. We also have AAD SSO & user provisioning setup, working on deprovisioning/removing users from groups. Would recommend
What do you dislike about the product?
Initially there was a lack of a feature to disable a user when they left the company. There was delete or unlicence. unlicence still gave a user access, deleting a user was bad from a traceability point of view. They have listened to the user base & there's now an option to disable a user. Thanks Smartsheet
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps us have a unified platform where projects are managed in one place. A colleague has setup a template & linked interdependent projects together so they are alligned. We also have a dashboard to sumarise multiple projects in one place
Smartsheet review
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to organise data via sheets and an interface, whilst being able to link said data between sheets and workspaces.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet marketing practices: individual users within an organisation are contacted regarding upgrades to accounts, rather than one dedicated Smartsheet representative getting in touch with the lead from the client side. Totally misdirected and very 'spammy'.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Uniformly organising our project schedules, business visibility of project schedules as individual sheets and project portfolio summary. Adding workflows to project schedule sheets for reminders & flags to users is a valuable feature.
How smartsheet surprised me with its features, despite some challenges
What do you like best about the product?
The thing I enjoy most about Smartsheet is its ability to automate tasks and create personalized reports. This automation saves time, letting us concentrate on other parts of our projects, while the tailored reports give us useful information for making informed choices.
What do you dislike about the product?
The fact that Smartsheet can be difficult for beginners to learn is my main concern with it. Despite being useful, the software's extensive feature set can make navigation and locating the appropriate tools challenging. Additionally, I believe that a better onboarding experience would do a lot to boost users' confidence when they first use the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet addresses the challenge of managing multiple projects simultaneously. With its Gantt charts, calendar views, and other visualization tools, we can better understand our project timelines and dependencies. This clarity enables us to prioritize tasks effectively and allocate resources more efficiently, ultimately leading to increased overall performance.
