Nice tool for collaboration and data management
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Smartsheet is you can create clean datasets and dashboards with inputs from multiple collaborators, while still functioning largely in a similar way to Excel.
What do you dislike about the product?
The list of available charts is missing some useful ones like a waterfall chart. It can also be difficult to reference cells on different worksheets in formulas.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I need an easy way to track metrics across our different projects. With Smartsheets, I can pull data from multiple sources to create dashboards that anyone in the company can access.
An excellent tool used for those who are not familiar with spreadsheets.
What do you like best about the product?
I am someone who had minimal experience with spreadsheets (excel). Smartsheets was very easy for me to get the hang of. I still have not utilized all of its features, but I am looking forward to learning how Smartsheets will be useful for our small school in terms of data.
What do you dislike about the product?
At first, I was a bit overwhelmed of all the possibilities that Smartsheets had. But I guess that is true with a lot of tools used for data. There is nothing I can pick out that I dislike. But when I find that one thing, I will make sure I make it known.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a small school, we work with an accountant "out of house" that handles all of our finances. I am a bookkeeper that communicates with our accountant on various financial matters. Smartsheets is an easy tool for me to use to keep track of purchases made for our school, donations given, and items that need to be paid, etc.
The tool is helpful in monitoring projects and tasks but there's limitation to the dashboards.
What do you like best about the product?
The tool helps me monitor my tasks to myself and subordinates.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tool does not have an excel (sheet) type of flexibility especially when it comes to merging and formulating and has only limited capacity when it comes to dashboards.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring - it helps us complete the deliverables, projects, tasks on a timely manner.

What do you like best about the product?
I like having the ability to export to Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF. I also like that I can imbed charts and dashboards outside of the environment to close any gaps of what SmartSheet is capable of.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would really like to see your company invest in meaningful lesson content that is offered as post sale support. The free lessons are only 30min long and provide very surface-level support. Typically it feels as though the client is being driven towards the purchase of additional bolt-ons/Upgrades to accomplish our objectives. It would be more useful to actually bill for the sessions and take deeper dives.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organizing our portfolio of projects and assigning work to our project managers. We also use it at the project manager level to manage projects through all milestones. In addition we leverage the form and surveying functions as well.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet facilitates collaboration and information sharing within teams or across departments. It provides a centralized platform where team members can collaborate on projects, update tasks, and track progress in real-time. Also, Smartsheet offers automation features that help streamline repetitive tasks and workflows. Users can set up automated alerts, reminders, and notifications, reducing manual efforts and improving efficiency. But I believe the most important feature is that Smartsheet prioritizes data security and provides robust permission controls. Users can set access levels and permissions for each sheet, ensuring that sensitive information is only accessible to authorized individuals. The platform also offers encryption and compliance with industry standards, making it suitable for my organization, which has strict security requirements.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet can be a bit complex and difficult to navigate, especially when it comes to creating and personalizing dashboards and reports. The interface is not as intuitive as desired. The formatting options for cells, charts, dashboards, and reports are not as extensive or flexible as in dedicated spreadsheet and dashboard applications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It offers a familiar spreadsheet-like layout, making it relatively easy for individuals already familiar with spreadsheets to start using and navigating the platform. The ability to easily share sheets and collaborate with others is a great feature. Workflow automation in Smartsheet can save time and ensure that processes are followed consistently. Smartsheet prioritizes data security and provides robust permission controls.
Easy to use, but functionality is too limited
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use - if you can use a spreadsheet, then you can use Smartsheet. And with it being cloud-based, you don't have to worry about data loss.
Also, the idea of a Single Source of Truth is really powerful - having Smartsheet show various graphical representations of the data to managers has been very useful and powerful to assist with decision making.
Finally, the automations are excellent - these are perhaps the super-power of Smartsheet, as it allows you to create workflows so Smartsheet can remember who to email and when, so you don't have to!
Also, the idea of a Single Source of Truth is really powerful - having Smartsheet show various graphical representations of the data to managers has been very useful and powerful to assist with decision making.

What do you dislike about the product?
It's not relational enough in terms of data architecture - you can't easily create a table of lookup options, for example. This means you have to implement inelegant workarounds.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Providing an over-arching view of task/project completion, and therefore enabling us to better assign people to tasks. It has helped us visualise the time taken for tasks, such that we are better able to predict how long future tasks will take to complete.
The automations have enabled us to create workflows that have almost completely removed our dependence on email for task management. Now we have an online form that people complete to request work, which goes into our triage/assign/complete workflow automatically. It has removed a big admin burden from everyone in our team.

A great collaboration tool!
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate how Smartsheets enhances collaboration within my project delivery teams. We primarily use it as a one stop shop for capturing details of actions, risks, issues etc and for monitoring progress and sharing updates.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like Smartsheets to make the process of obtaining and accessing workspaces easier. Additionally, I wish there was an option to archive workspaces for old projects without having to delete them, which currently removes my access each time
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I utilise Smartsheets to help facilitate my project meetings with delivery teams and key stakeholders. By using filters and sorting, I can view project tasks, actions, risks, issues, and decisions all in one place. This is beneficial for my teams as all the necessary information is centralised, eliminating the need to navigate through multiple files or spreadsheets.
Additionally, my teams receive alerts whenever a task is updated or commented on.
I also use Smartsheets for mapping out project stakeholders, developing communications plans, and creating project plans (including Gantt charts)

Useful but restricted
What do you like best about the product?
You can do a lot of diferent sheets with diferent objetives.
Smartsheet allows us to be more productives in the follow of projects, assigment of task and KPI of any kind.

it's really restricted, not very fleible and I had problems with number and date formats.

Smartsheet allows us to organize all the tasks of the project, assign them to our collaborators and follow up on them, as well as to see the important dates and the objectives to be achieved.
Great Simple tool
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is a great way for my teem to keep track of jobs that are to be completed, when they need to be complete by and keep track of who is doing what. The real time updates makes sure that the whole team can see information as soon as it is available.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is easy for some employees not to open smartshhet and not to look at it and therefore miss tasks that they are meant to be carrying out. It would be helpful if it could send you pop up notifications to make sure nothing gets missed.

Smartsheet helps us keep track of all the jobs that need to be completed and of what stage of completion they are at. It also allows us to see when they need to be completed by so that we can prioritise our workload
Good midpoint between easy and customizable
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is very user-friendly, it makes it easy for teams of all sizes and technical abilities to get started quickly. This is very helpful, mostly when you work with big teams that include members that are not from your organization and need to adapt promptly to your PM tool. Smartsheet is highly customizable and can be used for a wide variety of projects and industries. Not all projects have the same grade of agility; not all industries work the same way or commit equally to a project; Smartsheet is easy to adapt to your clients' maturity. Smartsheet offers robust collaboration features, allowing team members to share, comment, and update tasks and project details in real time. Users appreciate the ability to add attachments, set reminders, and assign tasks to specific team members, making it easier to keep everyone on the same page.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be difficult to generate detailed reports, and advanced reporting options are not available; some level of automatization in this would be appreciated. Also, integration with more applications would be appreciated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet offers real-time visibility into project status, progress, and resource allocation. This allows me and everybody to quickly identify issues and blockers, and to make the best decisions to keep projects on track. Also, it helps improving accountability and overall team performance.
