Great tool for effortless project planning
What do you like best about the product?
One standout feature of Smartsheet is its excellent integration capabilities. It seamlessly connects with popular third-party applications, such as Google Drive and Microsoft Office, allowing us to collaborate and access files from multiple platforms without any hassle.
What do you dislike about the product?
Even though Smartsheet has many features for managing projects, it could have better reporting options. It would be helpful to have more choices for reports, like templates and visualizations, to analyze project data and share information easily.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet solves issues with resource management and task tracking. We can better utilize resources, complete projects on schedule, and produce better results with its powerful features for allocating resources, managing task dependencies, and tracking progress.
Smartsheet is a great tool for project management, especially when it comes to collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
I like the possibility to add attachments to a sheet and tag people.
Another feature I also find myself using a lot is the saved filters which help me prepare to meetings

What do you dislike about the product?
The current text formatting lacks quality. I desire the capability to apply colors and emphasize text within cells. Moreover, I'm not particularly fond of the Gantt view as it lacks intuitiveness and doesn't allow for convenient placement of milestones.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I handle numerous projects simultaneously. My typical approach in Smartsheet is to share project phases, timelines, and milestones with the customer through a shared sheet. Additionally, I utilize it as an issue log, providing a dedicated space for the customer to report any issues/bugs that require our attention throughout the project.
Smartsheet as a small BI team manager
What do you like best about the product?
We use Smartsheet to track data requests and research projects in our small BI team. I like the card view and lanes that make transitioning between different stages of the project seamless. There are enough options for customization to get what I need out of the product too.
What do you dislike about the product?
Either the ability to add multiple contributors to a project is not easy enough, or the feature needs to be added. I also find it hard to see which task a subtask relates to when breaking down projects into smaller steps. There are some vital features I think should be added.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is helping us keep track of incoming requests and projects within our small BI team. Color-coding helps us keep track of deadlines, and positioning within our card view helps us prioritize tasks.
Simplified Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it makes project management. I'm a project management novice, and the interface is extremely easy for me to navigate. My clients also like how I'm able to provide them with complete transparency of each project milestone and deadline.
What do you dislike about the product?
None than I can think of. I'm not an advanced project manager, the software meets all of my requirements.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In my line of work, deadlines are constantly shifting. SmartSheet makes timeline management much easier and saves me a ton of time.
Great for big projects
What do you like best about the product?
I find that the automation is very helpful to stay on task. The reminder emails help to save a lot of back and forth in other emails asking people for their part of the project.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the features I do not feel are intuitive. I had to add an email to a task and I kept getting emails saying that not everyone was receiving the reminders. It took multiple steps and other super users to figure out how to add a simple email.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Multiple teams have one place to go for their project "to do" list. This helps us all stay on track and keeps missed steps from happening.
Wish to include capabilities from other MS programs
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to trigger workflow from logics of raw data. And every data entry point has cell history. They both are important to manage complex projects. I also like the flexibility in highlighting cells of new updates from any selected dates.
What do you dislike about the product?
Missing basic pivot table functions from excel - distinct count, standard deviations, selective rows to show count/average.
If I need to do basic data analysis, I need to export excel but then the file doesn't link to the live data. I miss that data link function from SharePoint List.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It provides transparency of the project to everyone.
Easy to use, Long load times
What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to be able to learn smart sheets and the different methods they give to learn about the software. If you know how to use excel it is an easier transition for sure.
What do you dislike about the product?
The long load times when saving in smartsheets is always a pain. I wish there was a way to just save the cells changed to shorten the saving time. Also autosaves come up at the worst times, it would be nice to have a popup to ask before autosaving.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps us keep track of incoming issues, new projects, new tasks, and tracking our work. It is nice that everyone can see the same information once it has been updated.
Useful for remote collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is a great way for multiple users to collaborate remotely on complex tasks. The "cell history" feature is extremely useful for tracking who made edits and when. It is a solid tool for tracking/record-keeping, and the notifications are helpful for keeping posted on recent changes.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like more flexibility in the "sort" feature. Currently, you can't undo a sort once it has been saved (and Smartsheet autosaves, I think every minute if you don't click--a wonderful feature in general, not so much in this case). It would be helpful to have the capacity to do a quick sort and not have that sort change the sheet permanently. Perhaps they will add this feature in future.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Record keeping.
Smartsheets for Project Issue List
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it can be shared easily with colleagues inside and outside the organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see multiple sheets like in Excel, where one can view multiple worksheets in one workbook. I do not like going back to the Sheets page to open another sheet which is related to the first sheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team can view project issues and provide updates for those issues in one place.
A great collaborative tool to manage and share data with cross-functional teams.
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is a great collaborative tool for managing data with cross-functional teams. It's great to keep track of data with the functions available and essential acts as its own data ecosystem.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a lack of flexibility within Smartsheet that Excel users will find a hindrance, such as the ease of filtering. Another disadvantage relating to 'viewing' would be hiding and unhiding columns as the current option is only to unhide all rather than a specific section.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For the purpose of my job, maintaining an assortment plan (tracker) is key to collaborate and share data with cross functional teams (Supply chain, Marketing, Logistics, etc). Smartsheet has allowed us to build a tracker with all relevant information with workflows to trigger notifications to appropriate parties where there is a change in data. In addition, the report views have been useful to share data with cross functional teams that would not require all details in the original tracker (data file).
