Smartsheet at Ease
What do you like best about the product?
An efficient tool that allows for multiple users to access and update in real time
What do you dislike about the product?
There can be a delay in updates in workbook, preventing users from seeing what’s been updated in real time without multiple refreshes
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allows for a centralized location of information when multiple teams are working on a project
Easy Project Management, but Feels Like Excel
What do you like best about the product?
Good solution to manage projects and run reports, but familiar layout to everyone using spreadsheets, so shallow learning curve.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some confusion about whether similar benefits could be exploited using Microsoft Excel
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have multiple projects with project teams working in a matrix management structure. Smart Sheets allows us to focus on tasks/products/other items that we can filter by, so that everyone can obtain the data relevant to them and provide updates on tasks by creating reports on the same data set rather than attempting to maintain multiple project plans in separate systems/documents.
Streamlined Invoice Tracking, Needs a Smoother Interface
What do you like best about the product?
I use Smartsheet to keep track of invoices being sent out and I really appreciate how it allows me to easily make tables or Excel formats while attaching PDFs to them. It's easier to collaborate compared to Office 365 tools. I mostly use it for attaching PDF files to the rows because it's easy to do and can be done smoothly. I believe the initial setup was fairly easy to add users and such to sheets.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is a bit clunky, and connecting cells with another sheet is difficult to do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Smartsheet to keep track of invoices. It lets me make tables and attach PDFs easily, making collaboration smoother than Office 365 tools.
Flexible Automation and Collaboration, But Licensing Limits Us internally
What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility of creating sheets and assign automated workflows based on events and criteria that occurs within the sheet(s). Having unlimited external users/collaborators to place data within system for tracking purposes. Having a user-friendly automation set up which is easy to use and to set up based on conditions.
What do you dislike about the product?
The newly added licencing, where everyone within your organisation/email domain must have a paid licence to use the system. Not everyone that uses Smartsheet within our company creates sheets/automated workflows/projects ect. They only place data within the system and edits rows where necessary. With this new licencing we are forced to look at alternatives. As we cant afford giving each person that uses the system only for editing rows a licence. Only a certain amount of employees creates sheets and workflows.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Health, safety, Environmental & Quality compliance within the business. External data tracking with contractors, suppliers and clients.
Visually Powerful, But Not Flawless
What do you like best about the product?
I greatly appreciate the visual aspects of Smartsheet, as it can easily display visually clear presentations, even for people with little background knowledge. This makes it a particularly useful tool in situations where I need to convey complex data to team members who may not be familiar with all the details, making collaboration easier and more effective. The visual capability of Smartsheet allows me to present complex information in an understandable and visually appealing way. The user-friendliness for people with little background knowledge is a huge plus and makes it attractive for broader team application within different structures of project management.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the capacity planning in Smartsheet not optimal. It should be easier to assign certain people to tasks and ensure that these people have a profile within Smartsheet. This profile should contain the planning for these people, allowing for better clarity and assignment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Smartsheet to merge and visualize schedules, allowing me to easily oversee deadlines and involved persons.
Decent Features, But Lacks Support
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Smartsheet automates some processes for us. Even though we are still learning about all its capabilities, it already seems to be helping with generating reports. I'm starting to get familiar with its control center, which might further improve our process automation. I also believe that once we fully understand Smartsheet, it will streamline more tasks, aid in high-level reporting and dashboards, and make our presentations and milestone tracking much more efficient. Although my first impression wasn't all perfect, as we continue to explore, I am optimistic that we will realize its full potential.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the reporting process in Smartsheet challenging as it seems like a one-way system. It feels limited because reports appear to be generated strictly from sheets without allowing much feedback or integration back into the sheets effectively. Additionally, I haven't been receiving adequate customer support. My customer representative, Bridget, has been unresponsive to emails, and I've struggled to arrange sessions to clarify certain functionalities. While I've tried using Prodigx, the thirty-minute time allocation is insufficient for comprehensive support. Moreover, the transition from Excel to Smartsheet has been slow, as we're still dependent on Excel due to our learning curve with Smartsheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I expect Smartsheet to automate processes, enhance reporting, and track project milestones better than Excel, although we're still learning its full capabilities.

Centralized Information, But Accuracy Needs Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
A lot of information and all information is one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some information does not seem to be correct, e.g., automated day of task added to sheet is wrong.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has recently allowed email attachments, which is really beneficial and helpful.
Great for Project Data Storage, But Ticket Management Needs Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
The feature I like the most is that we're able to create development sheets that allows us to store and access to projects information in one space.
What do you dislike about the product?
Based on my experience, it's best for storing project data rather than manage it. Creating and assigning tickets it's a manual process that can easily lead to errors and consumes valuable resources that could be directed towards the project development instead of the initial stage. It's also not very integrated with other systems or tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Actually it has been phased because of the lack of automation it can offer when compared with other business management tools. But, in the time it was used, it allowed to manually create and assign tickets of a project, and also creating a detailed per stage calendar for the developments.

What do you like best about the product?
I love how Smartsheet's automations allow me to streamline communication with other teams without the need to manually send messages or emails. This feature is particularly helpful as it automatically sends email notifications when a business process is completed, ensuring that relevant teams are informed and can move on to the next stage seamlessly. Additionally, I appreciate how Smartsheet is more intuitive when it comes to communicating with teams, which, coupled with its cloud-based functionality, makes it ideal for remote working. The initial setup was easy, which further enhances its usability and efficiency.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that when moving rows over to other sheets in Smartsheet, it includes unnecessary columns that are not needed on the other sheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Smartsheet for automating processes, enabling seamless team communication without manual effort and aiding remote work with its cloud-based setup.
