First impression with Gong – negotiations and implementation

What do you like best about the product?
Gong has been a game-changer in giving us actionable insights from our calls. The AI capabilities, like Ask Anything and call summaries, really stand out. It's been incredibly helpful for quickly finding key information, whether it's confirming if certain messaging was used or identifying trends across teams. I also love how Gong gives us visibility into what’s happening on calls, making it easier for managers and teams to collaborate and improve their approach. It’s not just for sales; our CSMs and product teams also see real value in the analytics.

The ease of integration with our current systems and the support from the Gong team have been excellent. Their help in implementing features like smart trackers and scorecards has been vital. We’re still in the "crawl" phase but already seeing success stories like reducing onboarding time and enhancing cross-functional communication. It’s an intuitive platform to use, and the feedback we’ve gotten from the teams who are engaging with it has been overwhelmingly positive so far.
What do you dislike about the product?
One challenge has been the license structure, especially for roles like product marketing and solutions teams who don't need to record calls but still want access to analytics. It feels like there’s a gap between the collaborator and full user roles that sometimes creates frustration. A mid-tier option would be helpful for these use cases.

It's also been a bit of a process to encourage universal adoption among the teams. Some users are hesitant to record calls or aren't fully engaging with the platform yet. That said, we’re actively working on driving adoption through training and showcasing how Gong delivers value.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Gong is helping us improve call visibility, accelerate onboarding, and identify actionable insights across teams. It’s been invaluable for tracking key metrics like cross-sell opportunities and ensuring consistent messaging during calls. The AI-powered summaries and search features save hours of manual effort, enabling teams to focus on higher-value activities. It’s also driving alignment between sales, CSMs, and product teams by highlighting trends and areas for improvement, ultimately helping us boost productivity and collaboration across the company.

Effortless Note-Taking and Call Management with Gong

What do you like best about the product?
I absolutely love Gong's ability to effortlessly create notes and high-level talking points from calls. Its searchable transcript feature is a massive time-saver, enabling me to swiftly find specific parts of a discussion without guesswork. The platform's ease of use, from setup to daily operations, makes it incredibly accessible, even for new hires. Sharing call snippets externally with customers is a valuable feature, empowering them to reference discussions independently, again saving me so much time. Additionally, the insights into conversation dynamics, such as talk time and response rates, keep me accountable and enhance customer interactions.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the transcript feature sometimes lacks the full context needed for a thorough understanding. When asking questions of the transcript, it often returns a direct answer without the surrounding conversational nuances. This limitation means I might miss out on understanding the complete sentiment or detailed feedback from customers, requiring me to review the entire conversation manually, which is time-consuming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Gong to automatically generate call notes and highlights, saving me significant time on call reviews. The searchable transcripts allow me to quickly access specific parts of calls, streamlining my workflow from hours to minutes.

What do you like best about the product?
The AI to summarise a call within seconds

Need to add the assistant for calls created by customers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automatically summarises the call and gives coaching and insights to me to improve the teams capabilities. We use it to help understand our pipeline and the likelihood of deals closing with its AI functionality.

What do you like best about the product?
The follow up emails. I really am glad being able to generate follow up emails after calls so easily in addition of having the transcription and recording. And the timelines. Being able to see when was the last call or email with someone is really helpful
What do you dislike about the product?
The integration with google meets is wonky. It not always shows up, or shows up late, and the message about the meeting being recorded ALWAYS appear in the most random times interrupting the call
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sometimes it was impossible taking notes while screensharing and talking. Gong is a great ally for that and making sure all the following actions are completed without missing anything and it also saves a lot of time with the follow up emails

Efficient Meeting Insights with Useful Automations, But video playback could be improved

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can learn a lot about cross functional teams and how they operate. This helps me have better overall knowledge of my company and industry I work for. I also love the time saving automations that Gong provides such as the Next Steps and email drafts. I like how it seamlessly connects to other software such as Zoom with minimal setup.
What do you dislike about the product?
I did notice quite a few glitches in video playback where the video became distorted and the audio was muffled when I switched to a different tab and came back to Gong. I had to refresh to resolve the issue. I don't love the search functionality and think it can be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This tool helps me gain invaluable insights as to what is going on within my organization without the need to join every meeting. I can listen to important updates on my own time and can quickly glance at important recordings that are relevant to me thanks to the AI summaries provided. it provides me with short summaries and can even write my next steps so I don't have to type them out in an email.

What do you like best about the product?
One of my favorite things about Gong is how it brings everything together in one place. The deal boards are a game-changer for pipeline management, making it easy to identify risks, track deal progression, and spot key opportunities at a glance. The way you can click into a deal, ask AI to summarize key points, and get insights like blockers or pain points is incredibly useful. It keeps everything transparent, helps us stay multi-threaded, and drives better, more informed conversations. The ability to coach team members using snippets, smart trackers, and AI analysis is also huge. It makes one-on-ones and pipeline reviews so much more impactful and less about info-dumping.

The ease of use and integration with tools like Salesforce has been pretty seamless, and support from Gong has been great. They’re super responsive and helpful whenever we’ve had questions or needed assistance. It’s also exciting to see how features like AI-driven insights and smart trackers continue to evolve, providing even more value to our teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
One challenge with Gong is that some features, like tracking related contacts or meeting types for recurring events, don’t fully align with our workflows yet. For example, we’ve noticed gaps with Salesforce’s related contact functionality and how it connects to Gong, which can impact activity tracking. It’s something we’re hoping to see evolve.

Additionally, while Gong offers an incredible amount of data and insights, it can feel overwhelming for newer team members to navigate and fully utilize all the capabilities. That said, with their robust support team and ongoing training, it’s been easier to address these challenges and keep improving.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Gong helps us improve forecasting accuracy, identify deal risks, and drive more strategic pipeline management. It’s made it easier to ensure our team is multi-threading, capturing key information, and staying on top of next steps. The AI insights save time and provide clarity on deal progress, while the coaching tools help strengthen our team’s skills. By consolidating data and providing actionable insights, Gong has made us more efficient and effective in achieving our sales goals.
