Excellent multiuse tool
What do you like best about the product?
I love how versitile the tool is. I've used other things like Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, etc and they were good, but not nearly as good as Airtable is.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a big jump between the free version which I use and the paid ones. I sort of wish I could pick which features I'd like to use and have an additional payment based on those. For example, I really want to use the Gannt view and the view grouping features, but I don't really need the apps.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can keep ALL of our important data in one place, allow users to add data without seeing the whole database, and cross reference data in other places where it is applicable.
My goto for any data-driven idea
What do you like best about the product?
Airtable is fast, flexible, intuitive, and levels up alongside you — it's the perfect entry level database, and sophisticated and extendable database. The open source apps and scripting function make Airtable useful for people of varying tech-comfort level. I use Airtable for backend data, analytics, personal projects, and more! I absolutely love the innovative thinking that's gone behind recent feature updates, improved automations, new views... etc... Airtable just feels like a smooth and lovely product and I would be so excited to see where it is a year from now, and beyond.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were more customizable views, even like a record-referencing CSS and HTML display option would be amazing. I've tried to onboard users from my team and they aren't always impressed with the default views, and prefer a custom solution. I also would love if there were "starter open source apps" similar to how there are starter scripts. I'm the type of user who loves to variate on what's already set up, and a simple app starter I can clone on Github would be awesome. I dislike that pro accounts can't have at least 1x base where they don't need to pay extra for additional users, I create many different bases for my team, and it would be wonderful to have a few editor slots per base so we don't rack up cost as quickly. However, we won't be leaving Airtable!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've been able to use Airtable to build marketing segments, run backend CMS collections for Static websites build on Next, and even track my personal spending and weight loss goals. The sheer flexibility has been astounding. We've been able to combine low frequency API pulls from various open source companies to powerfully enrich contact information and customer success data. By using 3rd party apps like BaseQL, we've been able to speed up development and use cutting edge tools for our SSR web apps, and we do much of our simple form handling through Airtable.
It's perfect for 80% of my business needs!
What do you like best about the product?
I love that the tables are both visually appealing and structured. The ability to customize the fields allows me to use it for various aspects of my business. I can build out my project management, editorial calendar, client forms and even plan my podcast.
What do you dislike about the product?
That there isn't any task management. It's not a clickup or asana where you can assign tasks or even manage tasks associated with certain things. There is no hub for notifications or viewing at a birds-eye view of the various tables and tasks associated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using it a lot for content and editorial calendar planning and oversight. I am also able to plan and manage podcasts, guest intake questions and related blog content. I also use it for a large portion of project management and planning photoshoots. I can have clients fill out a form and use that to pull over the details into a projects and plan out the ideas.
The best way to store your data
What do you like best about the product?
Airtable does a great job of integrating sets of data in a very user friendly format. I started using Airtable for a nonprofit but now I have databases for everything in my life. With the addition of several apps and automations it just continues to improve. I tell at least one person a week they need Airtable in their life.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't figured out how to use Airtable like a checkbook to keep finances on a spreadsheet. I also think the graphics could be a bit better -- when opening a record from the gallery view it can be a little hard to read. I also wish I could have the view from different tables open differently and not just as the default view.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I had been using spreadsheets before Airtable and they really can't compare to Airtable at all. I'm up to twelve spreadsheets that are interconnected and the ability to link the records and create individualized views of the spreadsheets has been a lifesaver. I also love that I can download the tables as a CSV table and share it with others.
Airtable is a tool that every business needs to use.
What do you like best about the product?
Airtable is the gold standard for a relational database that doesn't require SQL. I spend a lot of time working with SQL databases and Airtable lets me accomplish the same things with user-friendly interfaces that anybody can leverage.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that the formulas would have syntax highlighting and bracket matching. These are very standard features. I have trouble understanding their absence. I am confident that we'll get them at some point, however.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data Manipulation and Analysis, Scheduling, Forms (data collection), Automation, Airtable as a database for Zapier, and organization.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need a database but databases seem intimidating, you need Airtable. If you are a developer, you'll love Airtable. Airtable is for everybody and it's an amazing tool to have in the toolkit.
Gives me ultimate flexibility
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Airtable is that I can direct it to do almost anything I want it to do. It gives me ultimate flexibilty to arrange my data in the way I want. It also allows me to run automations (using a combination of Airtable's growing list of in-built automations or by pairing Airtable with Zapier) that save me from having to do repetive manual tasks with my data.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downside to Airtable is that each table in a base is limited to only 50,000 records. I am using Airtable to arrange all data in our business, including logs of emails that have been sent, and this means that I need to spread the data for our business across more than one Airtable table. But I hear from customer service at Airtable that storage capacity in each table is soon to be greatly increased.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems I have solved by using Airtable is that administrative work on the business has become a lot more enjoyable, because the automations I have set up save me a lot of time. The most time saving we have gained is in automated emailing of multiple people - sometimes over 1,000 at a time, with details (and reminders) about multiple Zoom meetings, each with different meeting IDs and passcodes, with meeting times shown in different time zones. While it took me quite a lot of time to learn how to get Airtable to do what I want it to do (e.g., how to use the formula fields), it is really satisfying to see administrative tasks happening quickly and efficiently once the automations are set up. This will enable us to scale our business.
Democratising the power of databases
What do you like best about the product?
Delightful UI that hooks users in, with powerful discoverable features to help as your projects grow in complexity.
What do you dislike about the product?
More work is needed on the mobile apps and some new ways of managing permissions.
It would be helpful to turn Shared Apps into Android Widgets, for example.
It would be helpful to turn Shared Apps into Android Widgets, for example.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Everything. Personal finance, company scheduling, our hiring pipeline, project estimates, personal development tasks…
Great platform for keeping track of anything
What do you like best about the product?
The endless possibliities of the platform. We use it as much as we can. The interface is very fast, and it allows us to work on the same bases together. I also like the fact that you have access to versions, tracking and the option to restore data in the event that someone accidently deletes something. I also like the ablity to present data to users without them needing to have to log in to anything.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing model could use an upgrade. Since they charge per workspace, if I wanted to keep my projects separated by workspace, it woudl require additional subscriptions. I would like to be able to pay once (even if it's a little more a month) and then have as many workspaces as I need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been able to move a lot of our spreadsheets and trackers into Airtable very easily and now data is not stuck in someone's drive or siloed in a single file. We have been able to increase our engagement and participant tracking as well as easily integrate data collection forms into our sites and processes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't wait, give it a try today. I was hesitant to try a new system, but since they have a free plan, there's no reason to not give it a try. Once we used it for a few weeks, we were hooked and decided to upgrade to a paid plan to unlock all the great features. It has been money well spent.
Amazing Software with So Many Capabilities
What do you like best about the product?
Airtable is incredibly flexible and powerful. If you can dream up a data process, chances are you can design an Airtable base to do it. From tracking grant reporting to taking orders for trees, Airtable continues to rise to our non-profit needs. It's helped us be more strategic in evaluating program data and increasing our efficiency and workflows. Airtable has found its way into almost every part of our business operations.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve on Airtable isn't steep, but it does take some getting used to. There are some things that could make Airtable stronger such as improving how views are organized and allowing some of the apps to be embedded on your website. That said, Airtable is constantly updating and there are some add-on services that have enabled us to overcome some of these hurdles.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Airtable for a wide array of problems. We use it to track grant writing and reporting metrics, manage projects and tasks, track invoicing, record interactions with our customers, and much more. Airtable allows us to set up data tracking systems that work for us, rather than trying to fit our needs into a database that wasn't made specifically for our needs. The apps enable us to visualize data in unique ways and different views allow us to see the data relevant to all of our team members' specific needs. It's helped us be more strategic in our operations and understand the intricacies of our work much better.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend this product. I've been using databases for a long time, and if I could design a platform myself, Airtable would be pretty darn close to it.
High extendable multi-functional no-code solution
What do you like best about the product?
Airtable is like excel or a spreadsheet program, crossed with a relational database - with added superpowers of automation. We have used it to build a highly extensive product catalog that is used across the whole business in such a way that will be externalised at a later date.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, only small elements of features, like the ability to aggregate totals across key parts of your base and report these via an embedded iframe feature
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Very quick and easy to set up without waiting to hire developers or bring them across to your team. The power of this tool has been to allow my Operations team to build rapid MVPs that can be released to the whole company quickly and see efficiencies within one quarter. With technology, that's almost unheard of.
