Kafka backend for 100,000,000 IoT Sensors
What do you like best about the product?
Simple and efficient to setup and start production ready environment. Cheaper than AWS EC2 Kafka

Nothing to say really I couldn't find anything to dislike!

Server management time and costs.

Timeseries data queueing. Load balancing and dealing with high traffic times.

Ease of setup and maintenance. Aiven really takes out the complexity for us to host Kafka.
The setup is very reliable and can be easily scaled without any interruptions.
Their support team is quick to react and do an outstanding job.
I've been working with them for some years now and it's an absolute pleasure.

Nothing so far, they go the extra mile to make sure their customers are happy

We can implement a fully event driven service architecture without worrying about maintaining a Kafka cluster,
which can get quite complex.

PostgreSQL in Aiven, Best Database Managed Service
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the database setup, very well configured. PostgreSQL in Aiven also have regular maintenance service like.
What do you dislike about the product?
I cannot apply some custom configuration.

Fast setup. Backup, updating, upgrading versions managed excellently

If you want to spend less time for creating and managing postgreSQL databases, Aiven is best choice.
Easy Upgrade & Downgrade
What do you like best about the product?
Just a few clicks to upgrade the DB size and perfomance
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes we don't like to upgrade new version very soon.
When Maintenance updates completed, and ready to install to implement new version, our DB sometimes periodically shutdown in the nights. then the DB is upgraded to new version automaticaly when is turn on, which is our didn't like it.

don't needed too many people to maintain the DB such as upgrading or downgrade the DB, because just a few click is done.

Ease of use and almost zero downtime
Easy to Custom spec and upgrade spec

Easy to replicate more database, so from apps can balancing the load query

difficult to custom disk size, because we need just extra disk size sometimes.

Spine up a new replica database if traffic apps more than usual.
The benefit is we can adjust the load database into other replicas, and then it can provide prevention from bottlenecks occur on a database.

What do you like best about the product?
The ease in which we can set up, transparency in billing, intuitive console
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing as such. But I would prefer running my Kafka Connect workloads on Aiven if I am using a Custom Connector
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are building a real-time event-driven application and Kafka acts as Central system for all other micro-services. We are reducing point-point communication among various services
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The billing part is what I like the most about Aiven. It's transparent and not ambiguous as one of Aiven's competitors. Apart from it, the console, usability, performance, migrations, etc are very good

Hosting and scaling massive databases can be challenging, Aiven makes it look easy and efforless

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are running a SaaS company, from the beginning we knew that we can excel on the product, but the most critical piece was our data. We wanted to have someone who really knows what they are doing do it for us. Aiven was a easy solution. Our systems are deployed in Google Cloud and their hosted postgres only works for demos but is not production ready. So we needed a 3rd party solution
All the Kafka power without all the hassle of configuration
What do you like best about the product?
Managed service that takes the complexity of setting up the cluster, zookeeper, and other things from your team hand and let you just faster into the actual functionality. It's like I have a team of Kafka experts in my company
What do you dislike about the product?
Setting up the security credentials and certificates is still a little painful, more automation on this part would be great
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We built a data pipeline over terabytes of requests for information we need to buy advertisement at the best price for our customers.
