Essential Tool for Efficient Note-Taking and Organization

  • October 23, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I find Notion to be an incredibly valuable tool, particularly as a note-taking application that I've relied on for over five years. I discovered Notion through a YouTuber's recommendation and was immediately captivated by its capability to organize my daily activities effectively. The use of templates is a standout feature for me, streamlining my process and making my note-taking more efficient, especially when I’m reading books and scientific papers. I also love the feature that allows me to connect different notes, which is immensely helpful for linking content from various topics I explore. These features are a significant reason why Notion enhances my organization process, and I'm enthusiastic about the potential addition of more useful templates and the AI features they are implementing. Moreover, I have seamlessly integrated Notion with Zotero, which complements my workflow perfectly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like Notion to maintain performance as it becomes more resource-intensive with increased complexity of use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Notion to organize my notes from books and scientific articles, benefiting from the ability to connect different notes and use templates for efficient note-taking, saving time.

All-in-One Workspace That Streamlines Organization and Boosts Productivity

  • October 22, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about Notion is how it brings everything together in one place. I used to juggle between different apps for note-taking, task management, and keeping track of projects, but Notion handles it all. The interface is clean and not overwhelming, which makes it easy to organize my thoughts and work. I especially appreciate the database feature - being able to create tables and link different pages together helps me stay organized in a way that regular note apps just can't do. It's flexible enough that I can set it up however works best for me, whether that's simple notes or more complex project tracking. The fact that it syncs across all my devices means I can access everything from my phone or laptop, which is really convenient. It took a little time to learn all the features, but once I got the hang of it, it became my go-to workspace for almost everything.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main thing I dislike about Notion is that it can be slow to load sometimes, especially when I'm working with larger databases or pages with lots of content. The offline functionality isn't great either - if my internet connection drops, I can't access or edit my work as smoothly as I'd like.

There's also a bit of a learning curve when you first start using it, and it can feel overwhelming with all the features and customization options. Sometimes I find myself spending too much time organizing and setting up pages instead of actually working.

The mobile app is decent but not as smooth as the desktop version, and editing complex pages on my phone can be frustrating. I also wish the search function was faster and more accurate - sometimes it takes a while to find what I'm looking for.

While the free plan is generous, some of the limitations on file uploads and guests can be restrictive if you're using it heavily.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I primarily use Notion as a knowledge base and note-taking software. It's where I store all my important information, reference materials, and meeting notes so I can easily search and find things later. I also rely on it heavily for project management - I use it to track tasks, set deadlines, and monitor the progress of different projects I'm working on.

Powerful Flexibility, Slight Performance Hiccups

  • October 22, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I absolutely appreciate the simplicity and beauty of Notion's note-taking capabilities, which initially drew me to start using it. I find Notion's ability to integrate a wide range of features like to-do lists, lecture notes, and easily manageable main and sub-tabs incredibly beneficial compared to other tools like notepad and Microsoft Word. Having one central hub for both work and school, especially with the Assignments Database or Project Database function, is invaluable for me as it consolidates my tasks into a single, accessible location. The flexibility and centralization Notion offers are unmatched, as it supports managing multiple projects and assignment deadlines while automatically highlighting what’s most urgent for me. I love how the toggle block feature allows me to hide and reveal text smoothly, and its powerful database functionality is outstanding. This unique combination of flexibility, centralization, and database capabilities makes Notion a tool I would definitely choose to purchase again.
What do you dislike about the product?
When I started using Notion, the initial setup was not as easy as I expected. The first day was a bit confusing, and I had to spend additional time watching a YouTube video and consulting my colleagues to become confident in using it. Specifically, mastering the Database and their relationships, as well as Formula and advanced filtering functions, required extra time and effort. Additionally, I would change Notion by significantly improving the performance and reliability, especially when dealing with large, complex databases and workspaces.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Notion to manage multiple projects and assignment due dates, automatically prioritizing what's urgent. It consolidates my notes, to-do lists, and databases into one tool, enhancing work and school connectivity.

Seamless Integrations and Updates, But Wishing for More Custom Styling in Notion

  • October 21, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
In addition to the extensive range of integrations with the tools I already rely on, I find the ease of using these integrations and building dashboards to organize both my personal and professional life truly invaluable. I also appreciate the frequent updates, which often address challenges I have just encountered, making it feel as though the developers have a strong understanding of what users need most. Without a doubt this is part of my daily routine, and only finds more ways to connect to more of my life in positive ways.
What do you dislike about the product?
A couple of years ago, this question would have been easier to answer, but with the recent updates, it's honestly difficult to find much to criticize. If I had to suggest something, it would be to have more built-in options for styling pages—something closer to a WYSIWYG combined with a code page editor. This would allow for greater customization of layouts beyond the standard Notion modules, and perhaps even the ability to use CSS or another widely adopted theming language. Notion already lets us deploy pages and databases as websites thanks to its cloud-based nature, and with third-party support, some of these customizations are possible. However, if these tools were integrated directly into Notion, users could make their pages look less like typical Notion pages and more like whatever they envision.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion serves as a comprehensive data storage and analysis tool in my business, allowing me to keep track of clients, their contracts, usage, and billing information. Additionally, it functions as a project management suite, enabling me to outline and monitor each step of our internal projects at the office. In my personal life, I also rely on Notion to organize and monitor various aspects such as health, fitness, nutrition, and medication data. It further helps me keep tabs on personal projects, including several engineering challenges I’ve set for myself to continue learning in my free time.
