Notion is our policy making tool

  • October 07, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how notion enables my workmates and I to collaborate on various draft making of policies and processes. There's also strict version control. When a collaborator makes a change, I am notified thru email. You can also see the various changes made by editors of the document.
What do you dislike about the product?
The problem with notion has been its search function. With the vast amounts of data written in our Notion, things are easily lost. Even documents I have written have gotten lost in this ocean of data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion is for our corporate knowledge base needs and for note taking. It's easy for people to make notes on a single document at the same time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
No recommendations at the moment.

This is what Airtable claims to be

What do you like best about the product?
Notion can be whatever you want or need it to be. Need a database? Done. Pictures, links, etc? Got it. And it'll do you even one better. LIVE. SITE. EMBEDDING. You can embed a window to another site INSIDE a workspace. I've used it to compile lists of CodePen demos and they all work and are interactive...its bananas and I LOVE IT!!
What do you dislike about the product?
The way that notion counts "cells" or whatever they call them is annoying. Every time you press "enter" or "return", it jumps to a new cell, which eats into your limit. Also, there's no way to see what is or isn't included inside a block (had to look it up, they're called blocks) until you click and drag to select text. Only then can you see where the breaks between blocks are.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
What haven't I done in Notion would be a better question. I have almost everything to run an entire business in there....if only I could figure out a way to just make it think for me, then it would have EVERYTHING.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try the templates, they're a great starting point and they can show you ways to use Notion that you wouldn't have thought of (usually).

It's ALMOST perfect

What do you like best about the product?
The best of Notion is its versatility and ease of use.
I've presented Notion to my team and they've all learned their way easily in a week or two.
Notion has given us the power of having our own wiki, resources library, and timelines for our processes.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is still too new and doesn't have many integrations.
I'd love to connect Notion as an API to an internal service, or to a website.
Also, the possibilities for customizing are limited, I'd love to change styles with CSS or something similar.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Some of the problems that we are solving thanks to notion are:
-Wiki database
-Calendarization of events
-Scheduling for works and processes
-Database of clients
-Simplified our Accountability

Simple, Flexible, Notion

  • September 06, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Using Notion is a delight. It's a very flexible platform, that allows groupings of markdown documents in useful ways.

With simple markdown documents, they support kanban boards, table views, wikis, and more. It allowed our team to consolidate tools, and keep things in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far, there's not much to dislike about Notion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion has allowed us to keep things in one place. Our roadmap, wiki, and a database of meeting notes.

Notion for Knowledge Management

  • July 01, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Our company has been using Notion for as long as I can remember. It is our main mode of documenting processes and policies. I like how Notion lets me collaborate with other employees. It also tracks changes and in some instances, only some people can do those changes.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is easy for things to get lost in Notion. The search function is not too good and it becomes much more difficult if people have written about the same topic on several pages. The Notion app also gets buggy when there are several items listed on a page.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Knowledge Management, Note-Taking, Gantt-Charting, project management, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There are other Note-taking software out in the market which are easier to use. You might want to research on this first...

Great alternative to Confluence

  • May 28, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to view, add and edit content. Very visual approach, light and accessible from anywhere since it's browser-based. Useful templates
What do you dislike about the product?
The to-do lists and Kanbans are not as complete as to replace Trello or Jira.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Create a repository of useful information for employees.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try their templates before taking a decision. They are so well designed, they may already offer what you are looking for.

Use Notion for your Documentation Needs

  • May 25, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Notion is my first experience of an advanced documentation tool. I used to work in traditional banking that had legacy systems especially for policies and other things. In this aspect, I like how Notion is, like most other apps, is completely run on the cloud. You will never lose your policies and documents unless you lost your account. Notion also brings a level of collaboration as you can add and tag certain company users into your document for editing or simply reading.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have been struggling with Notion in terms of two things: 1) Version Control and 2) Search. I have collaborators who change and edit things that I write. While it is great that I am notified via email, this online collaboration has seemed to remove real life discussion. The search function can be improved on. I frequently lose documents once people have dumped heaps on me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion helps us with documentation and knowledge management.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
None at the moment.
