Great Low/No Code ETL and takes the headache out of large, regular data lift and shifts
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use. Quick to get in place. Lots of support for applications and standard connections
What do you dislike about the product?
Can become expensive for data heavy integrations which potentially are still easy or much cheaper with other solutions which means you end up with multiple ETL tools
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Their out of the box connector saved a huge amount of work getting data out of an enterprise platform and across to our data warehouse.
Good software but expensive compared to competitor like stitch
What do you like best about the product?
quality product, more solid than competitor's product
What do you dislike about the product?
price, much much more expensive, and force customers to sync unnecessary tables that drives up the cost. stitch is much, much, cheaper when it works.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
sourcing data from various saas software without me handling all the api calls
Fivetran helped my startup get control of our data
What do you like best about the product?
Fivetran offers a wide selection of pre-packaged connectors that covers the majority of use cases but also allows users to leverage the power of custom functions (e.g Azure Functions) in order to create their custom connectors
What do you dislike about the product?
Oftentimes the user interface is a little slow to respond or does not instantly update. I also wish I could be given more advanced options on how to manage "broken" connectors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows me to connect new data sources to my warehouse and manage everything easily without having to maintain any data engineering infrastructure, all by using an intuitive UI. This benefits me by saving me time and taking away the need for a dedicated person in my team that would work on data engineering.
Easy setup
What do you like best about the product?
Amount of different integrations available with a couple of clicks and no additional coding required to get started. Particularly we were missing an integration like this for Chartmogul which doesn't seem to be so popular and found it here.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is kind of hard to understand what each item in the schema means, since the documentation may refer to something but not exactly what it means which makes it hard to know if that table is or not necessary for each specific use case. A glossary with more detail definition on what each table includes and what each thing means would expedite the onboarding process with each new connector.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Almost real time syncing of different platforms to big query
Fivetran is great for SaaS use-cases
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of setup, schema management and error alerting
What do you dislike about the product?
Cost structure can be a pain for startups, especially at high volumes. Specific use cases do not make financial sense for smaller companies and tighter budgets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quick ETL from our SaaS tools into our Database. It allowed our Analytics team to quickly become valuable rather than building custom pipelines for Salesforce and Asana.
Reduces the workload of a small team & good customer support while onboarding
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use. Good documentation. Good Customer Support. Exhaustive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Expensive. Needs work for more complex data sources. Doesnt pull all data from sources such as Drip & Intercom
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data extraction from varied number of sources
Easy onboarding, great documentation and toolkit for a decent price
What do you like best about the product?
Fivetran maybe has fewer connectors than some other prividers but quality and easy is what we value the most. Their support for dbt transformers and pricing is what made us choose fivetran.
Additionally on dbt - I don't really know any other provider who is hosting dbt for you as usually its your problem how/where to host, plus templates fivetran opensourced are top notch!

What do you dislike about the product?
Interface could be buggy time to time - blank white page or when you try to inspect dbt tree hence it's still in beta and doesn't happen often
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Marketing Data aggregation from various sources and transformations to later be used in dashboarding
Straight forward, intuitive and incredibly useful
What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that no backend is needed in order to set it up. Postman, Curl, VS code all goes out the window when using Fivetran. Huge reduction of time spent setting up scheduled API and database connections. Saves a lot of time for a company like ours that doesn't have an IT department but still want real time performance dashboards.
What do you dislike about the product?
The premade reports are somewhat inconsistent over connectors. Would like a variable overview description for each connectors and use predefined metrics similarly to looker.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Real time updates across all systems and a great overview of company performance. The most important thing is that we have all our data in one place (BQ) for AD HOC, dashboards, analysis, forecast etc... Before Fivetran we had data in all places and general overview and security were very low or not nonexistent. Today everything is automatic, simple and easy.
A market leading data ingestion tool that has saved my team vast amounts of time!
What do you like best about the product?
Fivetran supports a breadth of connectors, with clear SLAs to provide reliable uptime. The DBT integration and scheduling are a big plus for our data engineering team. Fivetran has a clear interface that allows users to log in and understand what is going on with ease. The alerting features are also useful to keep the team up to date on any issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
Currently, you cannot dual schedule on a connector ingest e.g. run every 15 minutes between 08:00-17:00 then run hourly between 17:00 and 08:00. People rarely need 15-minute refresh schedules overnight!
It would also be useful to decouple the ingest and transform scheduling so that they don't auto run together in sequence.
The costs of high-volume connectors are not the cheapest on the market.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fivetran is allowing our data engineering team to ingest and transform data (via DBT) in our environment at speed and with reliability, the tools are designed to reduce significant overheads of maintaining and monitoring data ingestion connections and feeds. The ability to pair with DBT allows for us to run our ingest and transform processes with more ease vs. some of the competitors that we assessed.
Great support
What do you like best about the product?
They met with my team many times until we could install all our databases. Super helpful all the team of Fivetran. Now our pipeline is working perfectly without any maintenance.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost of the rows is from zero every month. So you should have in mind that every month the cost is for all the historic data too. Also, they gave us an estimate that didn´t match for the real cost (an estimate of $35 and it cost $80 monthly)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having all our databases in the same place to extract them and take them to my warehouse where I can do queries to access data. It's useful and easy to maintain.
