With the Census acquisition, Fivetran now offers reverse ETL as well, helping organizations move transformed, enriched data back to business applications to operationalize and activate data. Currently, Census may only be purchased through private marketplace offers. Fivetran brings industry-leading security and compliance, cost efficiency, and ease of use to AWS destinations, such as Amazon S3 and Redshift. When combined, Fivetran's data integration and reverse ETL and AWS's robust data storage destinations unlock exceptional opportunities for near real time decision making with limitless potential for future growth. Pricing
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor, and additional usage. You pay upfront or in installments according to your contract terms with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. Usage-based pricing is in effect for overages or additional usage not covered in the contract. These charges are applied on top of the contract price. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before the contract end date, access to your entitlements will expire.

Dimensions summary
This listing bills through a contract with three usage-based dimensions. You pick either the Standard Plan or the Enterprise Plan, both charged by actual usage on a pay-as-you-go basis. Usage is measured in units tied to the data you move, transform, and activate each month. The Overages dimension covers any consumption beyond your committed contract amount. Your spend rate declines as your monthly volume rises, so the two plans differ in rate and included capabilities rather than in billing method. All three dimensions consolidate into one contract.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Usage is measured in monthly active rows (MAR), meaning the distinct primary keys synced in a billing period. A row counts once per period even if it syncs multiple times. Inserts, updates, and deletes count. Unchanged rows in re-syncs and the initial bulk load do not count.
Consumption past your committed contract amount is billed through the Overages dimension. This lets your data movement continue without interruption. Your spend rate still declines as monthly volume rises, so the per-unit rate applied to that extra usage follows the same declining curve as your plan.
Three activities meter usage: connections that move data, transformations that run data models, and activations that push data to destinations. Each is priced separately on its own declining cost curve. All three consolidate into one contract. Connections and activations bill on MAR; transformations bill on successful monthly model runs.

Streamlined Data Integration with Fast Implementation

What do you like best about the product?
I use Fivetran as an integration tool at my tech consulting firm and I'm a fan of its fast implementation processes. I like the product's ability to detect schema changes with minimal extra work, which is crucial when dealing with large amounts of data. The implementation of pipelines in Fivetran feels faster compared to other competitors. I also value the monitoring and alerting features because with multiple pipelines in place, it's important to audit which tables are being loaded or failed. The initial setup was very easy, and training employees new to Fivetran was much faster than with ADF. Overall, I rate Fivetran a 10 out of 10 for recommending to a friend or colleague.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd say additional capabilities to manage data quality issues within Fivetran. Things such as anomaly detection and duplicate detection are lacking. I feel like there isn't a tool to truly look into sudden drops or spikes in row count. Also, I don't see anything for automatic duplication for pipeline activities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fivetran solves creating quality incremental pipelines and simplifies schema change detection. Its ease of implementation and reliable monitoring boost my team's productivity by reducing manual efforts in identifying data issues in our massive datasets.

What do you like best about the product?
It's simplicity and ease of use combined with its strong connector and destination db support it makes it really easy to click and go. The free trial period lets you figure out if the connector is worth the price and the estimated mars before going live. Most data extracts are super performant and if there is a schema change the way it easily handles it is a boon. If there's a failure you can rest assured that the support team will handle it for you especially if it has been running successfully and it got impacted due to a change in the source system.
What do you dislike about the product?
Having data transformations, custom SCD builds, data masking etc as part of the initial setup of the connection as optional steps would be great

Helps unifying all our source data into our warehouse with ease

What do you like best about the product?
I find Fivetran incredibly reliable and it provides good visibility into issues. I also had a nice experience with customer support, as they were really helpful when we weren't getting all the connector info we needed. The connector SDK is pretty simple to use, which is great for adding in apps we don't expect a connector for anytime soon. Additionally, the initial setup was very easy, which is a big plus for our team.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost is pretty significant, and although the MAR warnings are helpful, there could be something more to guide me toward more cost-effective use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fivetran offers reliability and visibility into issues in my ETL processes, making it easy to integrate data from multiple sources into our Snowflake warehouse.

What do you like best about the product?
The UI is easy to use, and there are loads of different connectors available. I've implemented data pipelines with different clients with various different sources and destinations and the tool has always ran flawlessly. Fivetran support is top-notch.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing that I dislike about Fivetran.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fivetran is facilitating raw data movement from various source systems to a destination database, as well as reverse ETL via Activations. This is particularly benefitting my clients and me because of the ease of setup and the largely "set it and forget it" on connections.
