The Zoom Rooms and Events feature has become essential for supporting hybrid work environments. I also appreciate the workplace analytics, which provide valuable productivity insights. Having chat, calling, meetings, and whiteboard tools all integrated in one platform makes collaboration much more seamless.

Many of the chat features feel outdated compared to Slack and Microsoft Teams. Additionally, most AI functionalities are only accessible to paying users.

Essential for Researchers: Seamless Recording, Transcription, and Collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
As a scholar, Zoom has been an incredibly valuable tool for recording and transcribing interviews for data collection. One of its greatest advantages I find Zoom especially valuable because its audio recordings and auto generated transcripts are synchronized making it easier to follow along. More importantly, Zoom enables users to edit the auto-generated transcript as they listen, which helps produce clearer, more accurate data for analysis.
In addition, Zoom serves as an excellent platform for online teaching and meetings, offering multiple features that support interactive engagement and collaborative teamwork.

What do you dislike about the product?
What can be challenging for new users, however, is that when presenting on Zoom—especially while sharing PowerPoint slides or other visuals—the screen layout can shift unexpectedly. This can make it difficult for the presenter to navigate features such as built-in polls or managing breakout rooms efficiently.

Solid and reliable for daily calls
What do you like best about the product?
I love how stable Zoom is and how consistently it works, even with large calls. The UI is very intuitive and it doesn’t require any training for new users. I also like that Zoom keeps adding features on top of meetings, like whiteboards, team chat, AI summaries, and scheduling tools. It centralizes most of the collaboration in one place, so we don’t have to jump between multiple tools. The video and audio quality is also better than many alternatives.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes there are too many features in the menu and the UX can feel a little crowded. There are many settings and they are not always easy to find. Also, some features feel like they overlap with each other and can be confusing if you don’t use them often. Another downside is that when someone has a bad connection, Zoom tries to compensate but the audio can still cut off, which makes it hard to follow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Zoom solves the problem of bringing remote teams together in a simple and consistent way. Instead of having to coordinate people across different tools, we can schedule meetings, share screens and collaborate live in one place. It helps us reduce misunderstandings and speeds up decision making. It also makes it easier to host client calls and internal meetings without technical issues. The biggest benefit is reliability – we can trust meetings to start on time and run smoothly.
