Best way to run my web design business
What do you like best about the product?
During the age of Covid, using Zoom allowed me to expand my business all over the country - gaining new clients and still be able to connect with them on a personal level.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, the limitations of my equipment is the most frustrating - the software that Zoom offers has been top notch.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me to connect with my clients, share desktops to review out projects and be able to share feedback and ideas in real time without anything being lost in translation.
Teacher Use of Zoom
What do you like best about the product?
It's self-contained. I can use the conferencing features. I can use the white board, the recording feature (my favorite) and the annotation tools are all built in.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes going between the annotation feature and the mouse for navigating a doc can slow me up a little. Also, there's a "professional" brand around zoom that sometimes creates a tone that I don't always want when teaching.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's really hard to give students written feedback in mathematics. Zoom allows me to create videos. My students appreciate it and they feel more connected to me in the remote, asynchronous classroom.
For the most part, Zoom is user-friendly and creates good quality meetings.
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of all the users joining and the waiting room option. The ease of recording and finding the recording has been useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
The requirement to make a meeting for a recurring meeting; another app I have used in the past allows you to make just rooms to be joined at any time- no need to create a time and meeting. Just join the room (amongst your team) when you need to meet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy virtual meetings with users that are not in the same area. Allows us to see each other face to face and discuss when it best fits into our schedules.
The one thing we could all count on during the pandemic. Everyone else is just trying to copy.
What do you like best about the product?
So easy to use. Ne need to download the app when on the go. Always the easiest conferencing platform to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Connecting a Business and Personal and paying one price would be great and the integration with outlook has some issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy to use, great way to conect with co workers friends and family.
The standard for meetings
What do you like best about the product?
Zoom always seems to work and is straightforward to use. It is really the go-to meeting software provider (no pun intended using the name of their competitor, which is not as good as Zoom).
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were a few more options for the meeting layout, like being able to choose the location of participants or being able to disable reordering based on hands-raised and a few other tweaks that would make the experience a little more pleasant but there aren't any features that I think are "bad" or that don't work as intended.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a remote-first company since before the pandemic so we absolutely rely on virtual meetings to perform our work on a day to day basis. We also record many meetings for use by people who couldn't be at the sync in person.
A great overall communications platform, though the depth of the features can be daunting
What do you like best about the product?
Zoom provides excellent call quality and a wealth of features. Integrations like those with Google Workspace make it particularly valuable to orgs like ours, and it seems that in the time we've used Zoom, they're regularly adding useful new features. Most recently, some additions to allow one-to-many screen and audio sharing to breakout rooms is particularly useful, and I've only scratched the surface of the webinar features.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest challenge of a platform like Zoom that has so many features is keeping them all straight. Though the management interface offers a ton of customization, the hardest part is just remembering what each of the seemingly hundreds of checkboxes do. This problem is not unique to Zoom and is happens a lot with enterprise software, but particularly for smaller companies like mine, the level of customizability can become a hindrance more than an asset at times. It's also worth mentioning that though Zoom is always improving, their track record on security isn't perfect and their communication and confidence in fixes is a bit muted. I believe they're doing the right things to react to changing circumstances, but I wonder sometimes if Zoom as is secure as other platforms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Zoom is our preferred videoconferencing platform, and in my mind, the biggest reason for that is its flexible feature set and great call quality. Comparing competitors like Teams or Webex, you may gain features or security that Zoom lacks, but I've never seen any other app that does call quality as well as Zoom.
Great for meetings big and small
What do you like best about the product?
Quick and painless to add to a calendar event. Lots of options and easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Keeping our companies Zoom versions up to date. Also wish there was more settings involving shot setup and views.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for our live stream events and external and internal business meetings. Zoom is the most reliable conference software compared to Google Meet and Teams.
Zoom provides reliable and controllable meetings for our church
What do you like best about the product?
It's very easy to set up meetings, invite people to meetings, and control the meeting while it is happening. The controls are very intuitive and easy to locate in the user interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
I almost never use the 'speaker' view, that jumps back and forth depending on who is speaking. I imagine this is a hard thing to get right, but it almost never works. I just use the multi-view.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Zoom solved our need to continue having meetings while more people are working off-site. Several times we had to cancel in-person meetings last minute, and we were easily able to jump on Zoom and have the meeting.
How we make working remotely in sales work
What do you like best about the product?
We use Zoom daily for sales calls, team meetings, and more and it's a large part of how we build relationships on a fully remote team. It's easy to share screens, links easily with our calendar invites, and is even connected to our marketing tools for people booking demos online.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that we could purchase the webinar functionality for future months vs. needing to pay for several months of webinar functionality to build an audience for our webinars that are a few months away.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Zoom is helping us connect - to our prospects, our customers, and our team. Being a fully remote team that lives across the country, it's the tool that gives us the facetime we need to build and strengthen relationships.
User friendly and multi-functional
What do you like best about the product?
Zoom is very easy to use compared to other video conferencing tools. As a musician, I also had the most success using zoom with other music/audio software to best optimize music making with minimal latency. Although nothing replaces in-person music making, Zoom was the easiest platform to integrate other software to maximize this experience. Additionally, as an educator, I enjoyed the break-out room functions of zoom and the ability to share a screen and/or use a whiteboard.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downside of zoom is the limited functionalities for the free version. You are restricted to 40minute meetings, there is a capacity to how many people join a meeting, and overall there are connection issues that are dependent on your connection.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I think Zoom did a great job of addressing the issue of breakout rooms and the ability to integrate other software. This has helped me immensely over the past year.
