Industry Standard for Video Conferencing

  • August 29, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Zoom is easy to use and widely adopted as the industry standard for video conferencing. Its native integration with Gong for recording makes it a perfect fit for our tech stack.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have some users who utilize the zoom voice components which generate unexpected additional invoices. It would be nice to bundle this in to the standard license cost.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use zoom to record meetings with prospects and clients. This is used for seller coaching and feedback. In addition, it is great for sharing meetings with other teams and quick reference for meeting history.

What do you dislike about the product?
Since the pandemic I've been using zoom to To tutor students. It's especially easy because I can use the annotate function to model for students how to do a problem. They are able to share their own screen and we can work through problems together in a seamless fashion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Zoom allows me to meet with multiple students and teachers at the same time. It was especially beneficial during the pandemic but I found that when I'm unable to be in two places at once zoom still solves that problem.

Came a long way, could still use improvements

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Zoom has become such a staple for everyday work life. Their system is easy to navigate and easy for the elderly and younger generations to understand.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the fact that it will try to force unsuspecting people to download their apps. I understand that a lot of money was poured into the app, however, they should make the web view more noticeable. I also dislike the fact that when you go to present/screen share, it automatically changed to full screen and it also does not default to show all the other participants. Last dislike is that it's annoying to have to go on the web view to be able to change settings for the account, what is the purpose of trying to persuade everyone to get the app then?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Zoom is slowly considering people's issues. I know from the start, that they were very quick to make changes, however now, implementing new features or resolving issues are slower. Zoom did add a lot of options to change video/meeting settings in their web view so it does help with my productivity levels.

Definitely a platform that we use almost every day.

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, recording on the cloud, most everyone that we talk with is familiar with it already.
What do you dislike about the product?
Wish that the cloud recording size was larger, without additional cost. Wish I could add my assistant on as an administrator without additional cost.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Nothing comes to mind.

    Non-Profit Organization Management

Useful tool for remote or hybrid work

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it's fairly easy for your average user to learn how to use Zoom well. I like the integrations with Google Calendar. I like that admins can access other peoples' meeting/webinar settings to adjust their invites for them.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the Zoom and Google calendar integration was more like the website and had all the setting options. I wish you could see who is on the call before you join. I also would like to have a better overall admin view of all of our users and see if there's anything causing them issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Zoom is a good platform for hosting online events. We have utilized webinar invites several times at our organization.

    Writing and Editing

Zoom - the connector

What do you like best about the product?
That I can chat with multiple friends who live across the world, it makes it easy to have multiple writing group meet-ups for unlimited amounts of time which is important when every single sprint is around 30-45 minutes of quiet on-screen time and the rest is chatting. When there are time restraints in place it makes it difficult to do sprints like this unless we move to apps like Clubhouse. I also like the fact that I can screen share different mood boards/writing ideas/inspirational websites/artwork to all of the participants and that I can enable them to share as well. It makes it easier to be able to read each other's work in real-time and to give feedback and/or chat about what it is we are struggling with that we might be able to help.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost & how the video has been laggy recently. For some reason every time I use Zoom recently, even if my internet speed is good it always lags in my video and/or voice controls. Another feature that isn't the greatest is when you are using screen share if you want to share a video with the sound it can be very difficult to make sure everyone in the meeting can hear it and its quality. Also, because the microphone is hooked in line with the sound for the video we cannot give real-time reactions to the videos without it blipping in and out of whatever the video is playing. It would be a fantastic way to watch movies/YouTube's/other videos together if this feature wasn't an issue. Finally, I really don't like how if I am the host I have to have Zoom downloaded onto my computer to be able to start the meeting instead of it being entirely web-based. I hate using the downloaded version of Zoom as I feel it's less functional and more hassle than the web version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's making it possible to work from home & connect with friends across timezones. It also allows me to work from home and stay connected to my coworkers and other collaborators. It can also provide an easy way to be face to face with others who might have a hard time focusing on a phone call or taking the time to sit and do writing sprints. It helps A LOT to have accountability while working on something like writing even though writing is a solitary thing. It really does take a village. But you also don't want someone staring at you, staring at your screen or catching you on camera doing something because you forget they're there. It is nice when you can turn off your camera while you're working and then turn it back on to chat.

I have used Zoom consistently since 2019.

What do you like best about the product?
Zoom does a good job with user experience and the screen sharing works well. I appreciate the continued updates that add new features every few months, with new re-actions and interactive options.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like Zoom's mandatory security measures that have made things more difficult. If I am unable to make a meeting but need someone else to log in as me to run the meeting, they cannot do so unless I can get an access code to them immediately, since they only need that access when I am unavailable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I still work from home, so Zoom allows me to have face time with the people I work for and with, and it allows communication between multiple people that always has space for the people that need to be in the room.

Using Zoom for Business and for Family & Friends

  • August 29, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is quite easy to use. I very much enjoy using it for business and for meeting with friends and family.
What do you dislike about the product?
Quite honestly, I haven't had much of anything to dislike. I find it much better than any other similar platforms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has been a God-send during the pandemic, being able to meet with colleagues, friends and family. It has enabled me to plan my educational programs.

A great tool for for both my business and personal life!

  • August 29, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like most is how easy Zoom is to use -- especially for those who are not very tech savvy.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only drawback is that since using Zoom requires a computer, it still intimidates some users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
What Zoom solves for me is the ability to give lectures and teach workshops to folks in another part of my state, in another state or even another country.

Recommending Zoom

  • August 29, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Simplicity in creating accounts, editing accounts (from an admin standpoint) and the overall interface of live calls as well as the admin portal. Better than any competitors.
What do you dislike about the product?
When screen sharing, the audio I feel should either be automatic to share as well or make it obvious for people sharing that they need to click to enable audio on a screen share. Often this minor yet significant part gets missed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The simplicity of needing to do an All Hands (webinar) based meeting versus a smaller Zoom circle where we see everyone's camera. The ability to mute all when entering is vital in some meetings. The Q&A feature also limits excessive chats in a big meeting.
