User-friendly interface and effective team collaboration elevate project visibility
What is our primary use case?
I work in restaurant technology with Asana.
What is most valuable?
I think it's very user-friendly on their Kanban boards for Asana. It's very easy to use for everyone in the team. They have a good tool for the portfolio aspect because we have projects in different areas. Their new capacity planning is also useful for us to see where we are overloaded and how we can shuffle resources around. The fact that the Kanban is so easy to use and the portfolio functions are particularly valuable.
We have benefited from Asana's visual interface components such as Kanban boards. I did not use their Gantt chart, but they have good features and there is substantial visibility among team members because they can see who's working on what. It's easy to use and very friendly.
Asana takes one of the highest priorities for us for reviews.
Asana gives visibility to upper management with the workload and all the other projects that are going on at this point in the company.
What needs improvement?
The capacity planning in Asana is working pretty decently, but there are some opportunities there for sorting, such as determining which project has the highest resources, as their sorting doesn't work that effectively. The capacity planning sorting and visual aspects could be improved.
For how long have I used the solution?
We started using Asana approximately two to three years ago.
How are customer service and support?
I'm in touch with Asana's sales account manager only. I learned it on my own. Their website has many areas of training, so it's very comprehensive. If you have any questions, you can use the search function and receive many good answers.
I would rate eight to nine for my experience with either the sales representative or the online support.
How would you rate customer service and support?
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup with Asana was not straightforward because you had to think of where you want to go. It's somewhat tedious because you have to add it project by project, but it's part of building a portfolio. While it was more challenging in the beginning, for an end user, it was not that complicated.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
There are main differences between Planview and Asana in my opinion, with Planview being much stricter. There are too many controls on it. Planview has more reporting capabilities and is more detailed. However, for what we need right now in our organization, Asana works pretty well.
What other advice do I have?
It would be acceptable if my real name was used with this review.
It can be public for my company name.
On a scale of 1-10, I rate Asana an 8.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Having multiple tasks in one place helps keep track of your workload and enhances levels of satisfaction when a task can be completed.

It would be helpful to be able to multihome subtasks, not just main tasks. It would also be able to have an area grouping tasks you are a collaborator on, not an assignee, in order to keep track of those tasks too.

Collaborating with team, department and wider company can be done efficiently in one place. Viewing tasks all in one place makes work management easier.

Visual and helpful
What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy that it can be more visual. I love the Board View. I also love the classes that help with learning the program. I'm still learning but the more I learn how to use it the easier it is. Our office has just started using it as a whole. It seems to be working well. None of us have had to use customer support. The integration and implementation are made a lot better with the classes provided.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm still learning. I get lost a lot in the excel-like features (like if you x then y will happen). But that is more a me thing than the system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For me it helps having a more visual screen (like the board screen). It seems great because the employees can choose the way they process the same data.
Matches my work style perfectly
What do you like best about the product?

I sometimes wish there were a way to map tasks onto my Outlook calendar, so I can work-block from inside of Asana.

It takes work out of our inboxes and Teams, so that we can more easily track our progress toward goals.
Great Product

Improving visibility into team members' monthly tasks and enabling tracking from inception to completion.
Effortless Task Management & Team Collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
Asana’s clean drag and drop interface makes it incredibly easy to break big projects into manageable tasks and subtasks. I love the Timeline and Calendar views for visualizing deadlines, and the ready‑made templates let us spin up new workflows in minutes. Integrations with Slack, Google Drive, and Microsoft Teams mean updates happen automatically, so our whole team stays in sync without endless status‑update meetings.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the more advanced reporting and workload‑management features are locked behind the Premium/Business tiers, which can get pricey as your team grows.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used to juggle tasks across email threads, Slack channels, and ad‑hoc spreadsheets, which meant things slipped through the cracks and deadlines were constantly in jeopardy. Asana centralizes every task with clear owners, due dates, and dependencies—all in one place. Automated reminders and real‑time dashboards give us full visibility into who’s working on what and when it’s due.it is really easy to use looking forward to start using it in our company.
Great software for non-software product development.

A Productivity Powerhouse
What do you like best about the product?
It is super user friendly and intuitive than most project management tools I have used. For someone that uses it everyday, I find it easy to keep track of both work and personal goals. The mobile app is also very easy to use and makes the experience so much better.
What do you dislike about the product?
I like to track my projects and the fact that Asana doesn't have a built in time tracker is a bummer. It would be a great feature to the tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is helping our team of 15 people keep track of over 6 clients in one place. We are able to seamlessly collaborate while at the same time giving everyone their own separate space for their personal goals. As an Art Director, it makes my job of overseeing project so much easier
