Great for Project Management and Basecamp
What do you like best about the product?
Storing all reports, discussions, assets, etc. in one place is a great way to not only keep everything organized and searchable, but also a great way to backup data. Use as a project management platform that sends notification alerts in a more user friendly manner is done so better than competitors.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI was a big dislike, but it has come a long way since redesign. Also had issues with always having to sign in rather than it saving credentials or session. Could've been a security at organization or an Asana feature?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using Asana as basecamp for marketing campaigns, projects, and analytics report archiving has eliminated the need for multiple platforms.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be sure to train employees before use in order to maximize Asana's capabilities but also to make sure it is used properly.
Best thing ... if you have the time.
What do you like best about the product?
You could literally run your life from Asana. Personal, work... anything. It has endless possibilities. It’s lists & capabilities are customizable and each item you add into your workflow has layers of options.
What do you dislike about the product?
I stopped using it because it was too much to keep up with. Too confusing how things connected together and how to manage it. I would add stuff to my list and not know where it was when I went to do it. I couldn’t figure out how my inbox worked or how to connect all the tasks into my inbox.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was better organized, but I don’t think I saved time. Could’ve spent more time setting up a project in Asana than I could’ve actually doing it.
Easy, straightforward task management
What do you like best about the product?
Asana makes it very easy to set up tasks to share with a team, schedule on a calendar, and check off when complete. It's a simple tool with not a lot of bonus features, but it gets the job done for users who just need a nice overview of a list of tasks to be completed.
What do you dislike about the product?
The list view is not for everyone, and it lacks a lot of the more robust features of other project management tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of my clients prefers this tool over others, so I use it with his team. It's allowed me to have a clear view of what everyone's part is within the organization, and when their tasks are due, so I can plan/schedule my own work around that.
Reliable with Expanding Functionality
What do you like best about the product?
Projects can be broken down and assigned to team members. Subtasks, notes and uploads can be saved right in the task. They even added dependencies last year so you can make tasks rely on others and have dates automatically shift if one task is late!
What do you dislike about the product?
Not a lot of deeper, more customizable abilities, but they did add dependencies and a few other cool features last year, so they appear to be listening to their clients and adding features over time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
project management, organization and task assignment.
Asana has a very easy to understand interface
What do you like best about the product?
Asana has simple and easy to use interface. It has great set of tools that are not very complex. I love that they constantly release new features and we are very satisfied from using this product. They do everything to meet our needs
What do you dislike about the product?
No integration with MS word and that causes a bit of problems when you want the work to be documented as well
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Assigning tasks and tracking them
Asana has one of the best interfaces for Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
The listing of the tasks is laid out very nicely, and I love the ability to see additional notes for a chosen task in the same window. I use the comments section of each task to keep a log of any project updates, which comes in handy. I also like the ability to receive an email when a task is due.
What do you dislike about the product?
The one thing I don't like about it, is that there isn't a specified area created just for notes in each task. I use the comments section, but it would be nice if there was a designated area just for that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Asana for keeping track of all the projects we're working on in the Marketing team. Its also great, when it comes to sharing input on different projects, so we can keep referencing each team member's comments, when needed. Emails are great but can get scattered overtime, and can be a pain to sort. Here, all the feedback stays in one place, under each project.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking for a project management software that has an "easy to use" interface and has the ability to keep your team up to date on tasks, this is a great option to consider. The number 1 thing in project management software is making your life easier and this definitely does.
Asana - The Team Task Tracker!
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use and help with staying focused on the task at hand. It is a critical piece of software for our organizations to organize a large team and ensure that everyone's jobs are being managed and completed. I love not having to micromanage my staff and nag them to stay on task with projects - this allows them to have some autonomy in their work and gives me piece of mind that the work is being done in a timely manner.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a strong program and there isn't really anything we dislike at this point.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I felt that I constantly had to nag my staff to feel confident that we were staying on task. Asana allows me to relax and KNOW that the job is getting done. Everyone is happier that we are scheduling fewer team meetings because we can see that tasks are being completed in real time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Headed in the right direction!
Good for program management
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to organize and navigate different tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not seemless in transferring information into other programs like outlook for team members that have different apps for organization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Coordinating tasks across different teams for several projects at once.
Asana needs a little more
What do you like best about the product?
Flexibility in setting up new projects & onboarding new users
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of hierarchy and other ways to differentiate and/or group tickets into projects
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To do lists, help desk queue, development & desktop support backlog & state management
Trello with more bells and whistles
What do you like best about the product?
Similar interface to Trello, so pretty easy to wrap your head around all the functions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it seems like too much. What I love about Trello is how simple it is; some of the features in Asana are a little too much for me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
