Asana keeps everyone in our department on task!

What do you like best about the product?
Asana offers lots of flexibility in how you set it up and use it. We have multiple departments using Asana, and we all use it slightly different to fit our needs—depending upon what we are tracking or planning. I'm not sure about other departments, but our department uses Asana all day every day to keep track of our shared projects and tasks. I like that I can look at the overall project lists, or just look at my own task list. I like that I can customize the notifications that I receive so that nothing gets missed!
What do you dislike about the product?
We have a paid Starter account ($132/year per user x 20 = $2637) and I would love to take advantage of the "Rules" feature, but we only get 250 a month, which isn't very many for 20 users. I wish I could get more, but we'd have to upgrade to the Advanced plan and that would cost me an ADDITIONAL $168/year per user x 20 = $3360. Bummer
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can track our shared project from beginning to end in Asana. At a glance, I can look and see the status of any project or task at any time. It's easy for me to see where it's at or who it's with if I need more details. We can add all of our supporting documents to the project so it's easy to find what you're looking for instead of digging through emails. It also allows me to review my employee's task lists on a daily basis to help them prioritize and manage their day.

We have an email marketing calendar that is shared, so it makes it easy to see what emails are going out when, making it easy to schedule emails and spread them out. This ensures that we don't have multiple people sending emails on the same day. We don't want to overload our customer base by flooding their email box!

ASANA is the best organisational tool for personal and work use

  • April 03, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
ASANA helps keep everything organised, I would feel completely lost without it. The implementation of uploading excel worksheets and word documents, this tool has integrated documents very well. I use this every day, and as I said, I will feel lost without it. Never had to contact their customer support myself, but heard great things from colleagues saying their customer support is great.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing I dislike - everything works well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana keeps the team up to date collectively as it shows everyone's updates. It helps team members stay on track on what to do and everyone can see any updates that are provided in the task.

What do you like best about the product?
It's user friendly, and collaborative. You can customize and make it as personal and detailed as you need.
What do you dislike about the product?
For some people is yet another thing to do in their everyday, and can be seen (or used) as a way to micromanage individuals.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana provides clarity and structure, and a one-way to get all your resources available.

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is the perfect mix of customizable for your needs and simple enough for anyone to use it effectively. The UI is incredibly straightforward and great for non-techy staff.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the features that I would think are a baseline requirement do come with a price tag of an upgrade.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana brings all work into one place that makes everything easy to find, and easy to adhere to processes. The task management features are unbeatable compared to competitors.

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is a great program. I use it on a daily basis tp assign tasks to employees and makes sure tasks are completed in a timely manner. The email reminders are very helpful, making sure that tasks are not forgotten.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downside to Asana is that tasks can be ignored. What would help is if the program would send a daily summary to the person that assigned tasks to someone else, to let them know that tasks have not been completed. This would help with follow-up and remove the way it is done manually at the moment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is solving task management, as it allows tasks to be assigned to various employees. This saves phone calls and texts to individual employees.

Enhancing Asana for Different Work Styles

  • April 02, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
(1) Asana is a powerful tool, especially for larger corporations that work in silos.

(2) It offers great potential for project management and organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
(1) Asana isn’t very intuitive for those who don’t naturally think in systems.

(2) While it works well for large teams, it could be more adaptable for contractors and consultants managing separate clients and smaller teams.

(3) I’d love to see more tailored functionality for independent professionals or access to an Asana specialist and relevant resources.

(4) Adding pop-ups or quarterly email updates tailored to a user’s role—highlighting relevant features and support options—would help prevent users from overlooking key tools or using Asana inefficiently.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Since completing the Workflow Specialist training, I’ve gained a better understanding of how our company can maximize Asana’s potential. However, we’ve been using it inefficiently for a few years, so I’m excited to apply what I’ve learned and share these insights with management. Because we’re still in the process of improving our systems, I can’t yet fully speak to the problems Asana is solving or how it’s benefiting me—unless I focus solely on task and project management, which still needs refinement.
