Easy to Use - Automatic Notifications
What do you like best about the product?
It was easy to use and set up new projects. It made it seamless for the whole team to check on their specific tasks while updating the team automatically. Loved the automatic notifications when users are assigned to a specific task and when comments or completion are marked. Made project management easy while giving senior management with a high-level overview of the project.
What do you dislike about the product?
No way to link dependencies with automatic timeline updates. It made it difficult to see what other tasks will be delayed as a result of a delay of one task.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Simple project management, alignment of each departmental tasks.

Straightforward Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is fairly intuitive. You set up a project, add tasks and deadlines, and assign to your team. You can set reminders and gauge your teams progress. It takes very little training to use its basic functions.
What do you dislike about the product?
The number of reminders can get annoying. When you are working on a very long-term project, daily reminders can seem unnecessary. Also, functions outside of the basics are less-intuitive to learn.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana simplifies project management. When it is hard to see how you can tackle a 6-month or year-long project, Asana helps you map out your goal.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need a project management software, this is it. It is very much worth the investment.
Good but not great
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is helpful in many ways. The most important is setting up tasks and to do lists. The thing I found most helpful with Asana is that i can assign different members of our team tasks and they would get a notification about the update. There are many ways to make sure workflow is organized and every person of your team is up-to-date with all the projects. I do like that the iOS application is just as efficient to use as the desktop web version.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some problems I found with Asana is that is was too simple. When handling big-contract projects there were times I wished I could be more detailed in my tasks instead of just setting up sub-tasks on top of the main task. I personally think the price point is a bit high for small teams. Using the free plan its like I was limiting my team and thus actually making us unproductive because of so. I also dislike that there is no app in the Windows store to use. You cannot download any version to run as a standalone desktop application either. -- which would really be handy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems we are solving with Asana is disorganization. There are times when it is hard for small team to stay on top of tasks. With Asana we are able to do that with ease.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure your whole team is using it. Try other project management software's first. You do not want to get too involved or even pay for one that you do not like. They have a free trial, but that only goes so far. Try others out and test which one works for you.

I like that it is a one stop shop . I can find everything I need in one place and not have to go to several outlets

I don't like that it isn't as simple to use as I would like . I better demo would be great where they explain everything in greater regard .

It is easy to track everything when it is all in the same place

Being able to have an overview of everyones tasks and the due dates is really useful, the ability to comment on the various tasks and input screenshots etc really helps with team productivity and collaboration..
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be useful if you could co-assign tasks rather than just following them. A completed tasks column would help to track productivity.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to work collaboratively on higher level tasks that don't take priority in the day to day. Enabling us to complete key tasks without having to dedicate huge blocks of time.

Great for teams looking to establish top level tasks while working on their day to day. Can also be used as a handy to do list.

Very good and clean interface. Shown in workflow charts and easy to organize the progress and projects.

When I use Asana, I find difficult to manage across different groups.

Asana provides an easy platform for sharing work with colleagues and keeping everyone accountable.

Some of the automated emails from Asana were irrelevant for me (they would tell me about tasks created by and for other colleagues), but it wasn't clear how to set email preferences to avoid those updates
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a place to show each other our progress on tasks and also to each keep organized in our recruiting and supporting efforts. Asana helped me track my progress on simultaneous, long-term projects.
Good tool for project management
What do you like best about the product?
Great work management platform that lets teams stay focused on the goals, projects, and daily tasks that grow business. Flexible, fast, and modern design. Capable free version. Feature-rich. New Timeline view makes it easier to manage dependencies.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not ideal for graphics-intensive work. Can't switch between Task and Kanban project views after creation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is a top-notch collaboration tool that helps teams manage all kinds of tasks. Although it may be confusing at first, its flexibility and vast capabilities are well worth the initial effort it takes to get started.
